Must use the $10 promo credit by end of August 7, 2021.
"Any promotional credit remaining unredeemed after August 7, 2021 11:59:59 p.m. (PT) will be forfeited."

Unfortunately, if you redeem this promotion in some ways, you will get no confirmation about the $10 credit for up to two days.

You don't need to do all this to get the credit, but if you want visual confirmation that the promotion has been applied and you'll get your $10 credit before purchase:
  1. Use desktop/laptop browser or mobile browser in Desktop Mode

  2. Do NOT click "Apply code to your account" button on promotion page (doing so will still apply the promotion, but prevent you from seeing the confirmation message when entering promo code in Step 4, and you'll see a "cannot be applied to purchase" message, instead)

  3. Add a $40+ Physical or eGift Card to your Cart (not Reload, which can't be added to Cart)

  4. Enter promo code GCPRIME2021 during Checkout, just prior to purchase, and look for the following message in the "Review items and shipping" section: "Qualifying offers - Congratulations on your Prime Day gift card purchase. Your purchase qualifies you for an Amazon.com credit. A $10 promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account and emailed to you within two(2)days after shipping."

Yes you can do it twice
I reloaded $40 and "clipped" the coupon but nothing showed during checkout nor do I see anything on the invoice page. I did get the $40 already but no mention anywhere of the $10.
Is there any way to confirm that this went through?
I clicked the "apply code" button and did a balance reload (not a gift card); looks like that followed the "rules" but I can't find any info on checking if it actually worked?

Amazon sent an email that I got $10 credit and when I try to checkout with anything shipped and sold by Amazon the credit is not showing or disappeared from my account. So basically Amazon stole my credit. I had to chat and they are escalating the issue. I'm just waiting for a response. The problem Amazon has created makes me want to avoid future deals like this one.

They finally issued the $10 credit. I had to chat twice and show a screenshot of the email. I think what happened was that I cancelled my 1 month Prime before I used the $10 credit. So when I cancelled my Prime they tried stealing my $10 credit.

Thank you.
They said it was for select customers and I didn't qualify. After much ado, they gave it to me. Maybe... I cut and pasted the conversation in case nothing happens.

has anyone any luck buying stuff from amazon with these credits? I've gotten these type of credits twice this year and twice the orders where I used these credits for become undeliverables during shipment stage. I obviously got the cash refunds, but never the credits.

is this my luck, or is there a pattern? I've ordered about 5-6 things this year from amazon, the only 2 undeliverables were bought with these promotional credits.

contact customer service, promo credit should have been issued back to you on a refunded order.

yea im looking at where to contact cs.

meanwhile, their webpage specifically listed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=vnid_201819300?ie=UTF8&nodeId=201819300&ref... [amazon.com] no refunds to promotional certificates, such as the one mentioned in this deal.

i'll remind myself to try using these credits on something digital next time.

That's why you need to talk to CS, that page talks about refunds from returns. Amazon canceling the item because they can't ship it isn't on you, that's their problem/issue. That's where CS can help with fixing it and making it right when their automatic systems can't/won't. If you're lucky, CS will just give you a $10 amazon credit to your account which is more valuable than a promo credit.

i got the CS to ship me a replacement immediately.

The CS was trying to tell me that my original order is not undeliverable in their system and is at the last dispatch to be shipped. I showed them the email, text, and my account order page showing "undeliverable" and they asked if I prefer refund or replacement. I took replacement as I don't want to bother asking for a refund on the credit.

i still don't know what happened, and can only speculate that my orders with the promotional credits ($5 and $10 respectively) might have triggered something in their system and caused the orders to be labeled as undeliverables prior to shipment. Both orders were labeled as undeliverables the moment it was prepped for shipment.

7/18/21 Update:

The replacement item got lost so I had to talk to CS again and because they only allow one replacement per order, they gave me the promotional credit back without expiration. I guess it's like a credit. I cannot believe how much hassle it goes into using these credits. I don't remember Amazon as this before.
