Goonies 4k has bad reviews on video/audio quality of the transfer
Not from what I've seen. It's a grainy 80's movie that was never meant to look super polished. The regular blu-ray version from 2010 is over saturated. Black levels are never going to be perfect given that the source material is film rather than digital footage.
What I can tell you is my understanding, what a movie is "shot in" isn't as important, it's how it was transferred when it comes to PQ.
It also matters what equipment you're using, so a "Hisense" display or PJ(1080P?) might be the best to use.
Neither really talked about how they evaluated the AQ & with what, all they really said that it was better than BD.
On my end I used a OLED display, playing disc from a Panny 820 and have a 5.2.4 reference setup that follows Dolby's overhead recommendation pretty closely, all in a dedicated room.
For me it was so bad I sold the 4K disc package to make almost all my money back & stayed with the original BD version. I usually just keep them but I new I would never watch it again and didn't want it to be a complete loss.
I agree with the 1st video I looked forward to this movie because on the potential, we just disagree on the final outcome.

If you have the BD version not sure it's worth the upgrade, sadly the transfer is not that good! ā¹ļø
I don't have the BD, but really? The YouTube guys seem to like the 4k transfer.
