Had a friend buy the R6 in 55 back in January. Panel started showing things in triple vision in late May. Called Costco Concierge and they contacted Hisense who sent out a technician. Hisense had her do factory resets, take pictures of the screen and other solutions which did not work. He replaced one part which didn't fix the problem then told her she must have broken the TV because there was a small scratch on edge of screen. Now the scratch could have happened when he opened the TV on the bed to repair it.
He refused to submit for replacement and since it is his word vs hers Hisense wouldn't authorize a replacement. Very disappointed in Hisense service and support. Now its a throwaway item after 5 months. Couldn't take back to Costco since past the 90 day return period.
What a waste. I bought a Hisense H8G back in February. I sure hope I don't have any issues with mine. So far so good.

Now very cautious about these low end TV brands.
That sounds terrible and I've got two of these (both clearance at Costco for $150). Knock on wood that it doesn't happen but Costco is usually good about this if your friend reaches out to them.
I got the 2020 Toshiba 43" this morning for my workout room on Amazon. It was like $239.
I think I'll stick with that since it has bluetooth for headphones, and this does not. The Rtings for the 2020 Toshiba fire tv was a 6.6. This one is a 6.9. Not enough of a difference for me to lose bluetooth capability built in.

Tell your friend to file a BBB complaint. You can read the history of filed complaints to get an idea how the company will respond. It has worked for me in the past.
7 year warranty at Costco with 1 yr manuf, 1 yr addl Costco Concierge, 2 years addl with Costco credit card, and 3 years with allstate costco $34. = 7 years. cost $34.

Pretty sure 1 of those years overlap when you buy the extended warranty -- that's what a Costco rep admitted to me when looking at Vizio TVs.

Thanks for your reply, she does not have a history of returning things to Costco so maybe that will help even though outside of the 90 day return period. I'll have her try.
Sucks that you get a 2 year warranty when you buy from Costco but the mfr doesn't support you well within the warranty period.

FYI - Hisense owns and operates Toshiba. They bought the trademark name and manufacture units under the Toshiba brand.

My Sharp (Hisense) 65" just died after 4 1/2 years. If I could buy a U8G from Costco or Sams, I'd probably go with Hisense again.

329.99 is current Amazon price for the equivalent 43" model.
And it's been as low as $199.99 too (see camel...). Everyone knows Amazon prices can be all over the map!
