Asus Q408 series is jut the BestBuy specific model for the standard ZenBook 14 and for this specific model, it is equivalent to UM425UA model. Only difference is that the BestBuy model has some lower end configuration, like 256GB SD, which is not available in the normal ZenBook series. Also, the BB model comes with dedicated MX450 (MX350 in the previous generation), not available in the Ryzen version of ZenBook 14.

If 8GB is enough for you then pretty good deal. That's the only cons I can tell you. Another thing, just like the new Zenbook 14 series from 2020, no headphone jack. It comes bundled with a Type-C to 3.5mm cable.

That one is a 4.4 lbs gaming laptop vs 2.9 lbs Ultra Portable and they are not comparable. It entirely depends upon what you intend to do with your Laptop.

And regarding your question about the Graphics, Vega 7 is the integrated GPU in the CPU and MX450 is the dedicated Graphics. There is a tech called Nvidia Optimus for more than 15 years now, which can switch between integrated Graphics and dedicated Nvidia Graphics, based on the work the laptop is doing. In that way, the dedicated graphics card is not running all the time and that conserves battery.

Would the 2 gb dedicated video ram help keep the 8gb system ram freed up? I do some minor video editing(drone pics), but can never find a 16gb system with good battery, 300+nit screen and a strong(ish) processor. PS> I don't play games on it, so that isn't a factor.
