This is on par or better than CeraVe according to my friend who is also a dermatologist.

It is its own brand. Personally I like it much better than CeraVe.

I have sensitive skin according to my dermatologist and this is what she recommended. I developed an allergy to several things that are used in ingredients in everything, sort of like over exposure I guess, like aloe. I've been using it for about six months and it works really well.

Have seen several dermatologists over the years and this is the only one they've recommended to me. Good timing because my container is nearly finished.

I see the vanicream reps when I go to conferences. This is definitely not a knockoff. I've always been a cerave person and this will give me a good opportunity to really try vanicream out (rather than the dinky samples I've received in the past).

CeraVe has far better ingredients, absorbs in the skin way better than Vanicream. A few extra bucks, but worth it.

Not sure who was first to market, but this is a well-known product. I don't think I've used CeraVe before, so hard to compare, but no complaints on my end. It's nice and thick and moisturizes well.

I just looked at the ingredients list for both CeraVe and Vanicream and see that Vanicream has far fewer ingredients. What in CeraVe is far better than Vanicream?

Vanicream (from Amazon):
Purified water, petrolatum, sorbitol, cetearyl alcohol, propylene glycol, ceteareth-20, simethicone, glyceryl stearate, PEG-30 stearate, sorbic acid, BHT.

Cerave (from Amazon):
AQUA / WATER / EAU,GLYCERIN,CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE,CETEARYL ALCOHOL,CETYL ALCOHOL,POTASSIUM PHOSPHATECERAMIDE NPCERAMIDE AP,CERAMIDE EOP,CARBOMER,DIMETHICONE,CETEARETH-20,BEHENTRIMONIUM METHOSULFATE,METHYLPARABEN,SODIUM LAUROYLACTYLATE,CHOLESTEROL, DISODIUM EDTA,DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE,PROPYLPARABEN,HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID,PHYTOSPHINGOSINE,XANTHAN GUM,POLYSORBATE 20, POLYGLYCERYL-3 DIISOSTEARATE

I heard that Ceramide in Cerave is good. I have been using Cerave and like it. But I am tempted to try this brand. It doesn't contain paraben.

We have both Vanicream and CeraVe in our household for helping with ezcema. I personally prefer CeraVe because it doesn't feel as sticky after application compared to Vanicream. That feeling goes away not too long after Vanicream application though. Both seem very effective so we tend to just buy whichever one is on sale.
