Sounds like bullshit. May have to return it then. The app won't even run in the background while we sleep just for audio purposes?

Hmm, I do not know about that one. We never tried keeping our phone on/App open all night on live view. I suppose it would work? Your phone may get hot running it all night though. Hopefully others can chime in with experience doing this.

For those that have this, how easy is it to mount and then remount when moving the baby to their own room?

You can use the multi stand if you don't want to mount in the 1st room

The reviews are ripping this thing to shreds, is it even worth it at $100?

Does this have a clicking sound when it switches to night mode? For my reason my eufy and blink cams do that and it keeps waking up the baby. Then he looks right at it when we're watching the video feed.

Mounting was a few screws and cable channels. It could peel off the paint, etc.

We used this product as a temporary mount in the bassinet and used the provided mounting in the nursery

Yup, it clicks. Should happen as soon as you turn off your lights though; not something you have to do manually.

Thoughts on just using the table stand attachment and not placing it over a crib?
Depends on your setup. We didn't really have anywhere to place it that sat above the bassinet, so you're dealing with a side angle through the mesh/bars of the bed/crib. At that point, it didn't feel like we were really getting the best angle.

Of course, this is the ramblings of a first time parent that is overly cautious on every detail. Time fixes that.

Yes. Nanit Pro Complete Monitoring System includes the breathing band which makes the whole price HSA/FSA eligible. IF you have a HSA/FSA account this is a very nice tax free savings. Depending on how much you spend on taxes, it's essentially like getting all the additional value for a fraction of what it's worth.

You can find more info on the Nanit page: https://support.nanit.com/hc/en-u...53-HSA-FSA

They both come with the breathing band, the complete only has the sheet and multistand as extra. So in terms of it being worth it, you may just break even.

Dang. My other cams seem to click every time you view live video in nightmode.

leave the IR off at night. hanging the camera directly above the baby is like shining a flashlight to his/her eyes. You can't see IR, but it has the same effect to your eyes. The baby will probably stare at the red IR dots, and it might cause irreversible damage to the eyes/
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/...MC3116568/

This is not something I would've even considered. Even if it didn't have the potential to harm the eyes though it's still quite the distraction based one the one photo I saw that took a picture of it in a pitch black room. The picture was accompanied by this review:

Quote :
Night vision lights are extremely bright and very distracting. If my baby's eyes flicker open for even a moment, the lights catch his eye and he's awake and just stares at them until he becomes upset and starts crying. HUGE design flaw.
They're not the only one reporting that their baby stares at it. I wonder if a night light would be better...

We used the wall mount unit without actually wall mounting it and connected it with a clip on mount to the side of our bassinet and it worked just fine. Baby is still too young to transfer to nursery yet but once he does, we'll formally wall mount it.

This is the clip on mount we got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RXHQ...UTF8&psc=1

It has nothing to do with the app though. Your lights are on. You turn them off, and the click happens once. Then you're set. I'd guess that the baby is likely awake when the lights are on, so the click shouldn't wake them up? I could be misunderstanding though.
