Been looking for a good deal on a Samsung 2tb EVO or EVO Plus nvme. The search continues.

This would be a decent price if it was the 980 Pro, but it's not. In fact this is the regular price for this SSD. TD.

This is Samsung's entry level DRAMless NVMe drive, it's not optimized to handle large amounts of data at once. For the average user, this still offers really good performance.

Right after I brought the sk hynix ones yesterday. Won't let me cancel. Which is better?

If the one you bought is the Sk Hynix P31 Gold, then that's the better performing SSD. It has a DRAM cache. This 980 is Samsung's DRAMless entry level NVMe.

Good to slap in an enclosure and use for the new Xbox?

(Assuming I can ever even get my hands on one) 😢

This 980 lacks dram. Which reads bigger files slower. But has one of the fastest flash Samsung offers which makes it just as fast as most of the other cards. Both sk Hynix and this are good IMO. You won't really notice any difference.

Lol. I feel like Samsung made this to trick the newb into thinking it's the 980 Pro.

What are the odds 1TB nvme s are going to drop to the sub 100s as a regular price soon? I don't need it quite yet but it's tempting. Seems even before Prime Day deals close to the 100 mark on decent drives has been more common.

Combined this with a $40 off $100 offer from the past AMEX promotions.
