No. The Pro (with DRAM) had issues, fixed with a firmware update. These ones haven't been affected by that issue.

Probably the best deal at $40. DRAM-less, but quick and TLC. This is the 1TB drive to buy at this price point.

Tom's knocks it for slow direct writes (old review before all these cheap DRAMless drives hit the market), but it's still 450 MBps. That's like 3x the Crucial P3 Plus.


(The 980 Pro had a firmware bug that needs patching.)

If anything the Samsung is the Hyundai

FWIW, Crucial shows rated as 220TB Total Bytes Written (TBW) while Samsung shows as 600 TB TBW. Both 5 year warranty. So for that, I'd go with Samsung.
