Can you read? They didn't say a plain 2080 is faster than a 3070, they said some 2080s are faster than some 3070s. They were right. Generally speaking each new generation of card performs one tier better than the last gen... ie, a 1080 and a 2070 and a 3060 should all be in the same ballpark. That is especially true with 30 series gpus where a lot of the performance gains came from more wattage. In poor cooling situations (like laptops) where wattage is limited, they will not have much of an advantage at all over 20 series, especially one from a higher tier.
And yes I understand thermal situations but all things being equal, the 3070 will still be roughly 17% faster
3070 = 80-125W
2080 max Q = 90W
Even as of a month ago their tech support was still responsive (I was asking about details of the M.2 ports and they sent the service manual for the laptop in about a day).
I recently swapped the Western Digital Blue M.2 SSD with a "XPG GAMMIX S50 Lite 2TB M.2 2280" because one of the slots supports PCIe 3 and it is blazing fast.

i'm not a pro gamer. i just need to do some simple trim cut join 1080-4k video editing, photos not even worth mentioning. for games i play whatever is available for free online, like FPS. I know nothing about new laptops or desktop hardware. I assume i can connect at least one 4k monitor and it'll be limited to 60Hz? If this laptop can handle 2 monitors at 2k-4k even better but not a requirement.
Does it support usb port charging? no FPS?

This is a 115w 2080 super. Even then, the only way you can really tell how gaming laptops will compare is to see benchmarks because of the massive variability of wattage and thermals means that Nvidia model numbers are just a loose suggestion of actual performance.
Even then, the real max performance will depend on how well you can undervolt the GPU and CPU (since they share power/thermals).

Eluktronics make fantastic laptops. A huge determinant in my decision to buy an Eluktronic was its thermal management. The build quality is outstanding, with the Tong Fang chassis, the thermals is never an issue.
Customer service is also fantastic. I've called them directly a few times with questions, and never had an issue with them. They are definitely a small boutique company. My calls went directly to a smart, competent person.
I will continue to buy Eluktronic laptops in the future.
