Okay, so I have an older sister who is OBSESSED with reading about 2012 and the Mayan Long Count calendar. She is absolutely convinced that the Mayans were onto something and that Armageddon is just a stone's throw away.
This morning she called to tell me about a movie that is being released in November called 2012 that is, obviously, about the end times.
Okay, so aside from the fact that my husband and I think she is a one french fry short of a Happy Meal on this issue, she appears pretty normal about other issues/situations. But she harps on this 2012 all the time to anyone who will listen.
I finally Googled it and read a little but don't find it to be any more or less impressive than the Nostradamus (sp?) guy. I think people can pretty much read anything they want into things.
So my question is, anyone here ever spent any time reading about this 2012 stuff? Thoughts?

I hope I at least get to eat cake first.
ps: your sister's gonna feel awfully silly when absolutely NOTHING happens at midnight...just like all the other fruit loops that predicted doomsday during Y2K and last year...and every other doomsday prediction that's been forcast

Anyhow, when nothing happened for several weeks, they decided they looked like morons with all this food and stuff so they started giving it away a little at a time. For my son's 7th birthday ... they gave him a 20lb bag of dried potato flakes. No kidding. Poor kid was like WTF?????????????

She's also the one that decided it was best to unplug her computer when the conflicker virus was going around.
(NOTE: As with weapons, personal items such as food, water, and
medicine must be multiplied for the number of people in your group.)
