With BestBuy's Student Deal program, this 2020 model is $100 lower than the deals I've see lately. Might be a good alternative to people on the market for an iPad Air, since this is just $80 more than today's Prime Day sales from various vendors and you get twice the storage, 120hz ProMotion display, Face ID, Dual Cameras with Lidar (not that this really matters lol), etc.
Multiple models and configurations are available--including a couple of expensive 2021 M1 model configurations.

The trade off is the A12z is older than the A14 and a bit slower in single threaded performance. Also Face ID on the Pro instead of Touch ID on the Air.
I think the boost in RAM and storage will make this Pro more future proof than the Air 4 actually, even taking the CPU into account.

I had to make that decision as well last fall and went with the pro also. The storage, the speakers, the ram, and the promotion were the deciding factors for me. I wish mine was blue though! Always have to sacrifice something no matter what 😆
I can't speak to graphic designing but when researching getting the iPad I saw a lot of folks in graphic design use the iPad Pro for that type of work, though you might want to go to the 12.9" if that is what you'd be using it for. For everyday stuff, and what I use it for, it's perfect.

That's what I've been reading/hearing on YouTube. I still wish I had that Center Stage feature as a heavy televideo user. For everyone WFH and using FaceTime/Zoom/Skype/Google Meet regularly, that's a sweet upgrade. However, being on the other end of meetings with people who have cameras adjusting all the time sometimes gets nauseating. So, maybe it's a feature and not a bug to not have my camera constantly adjusting 🤔
Seems like 600 is a big jump, but wondering if the tech is worth it
