I am not sure about this specific laptop, but after dealing with gaming laptops for over a decade, sometimes they can have stronger gpus or cpus in the same package because they might use more or beefier heatpipes in those models. Once again Idk about this specific model though.

But more correctly it's an internal hardware switch that connects the dGPU directly to the laptop screen, bypassing the iGPU and increasing performance a bit. Most laptops with a dedicated GPU have to pass the signal through the integrated GPU which bottle necks the potential performance a bit.
