Also, don't forget it comes with one year of Apple TV+, but that deal expires EOD on June 30th so you need to activate the Apple TV before then. More info.

I have all Windows and Android devices and the Apple TV is my personal favorite streaming device. I've tried Roku's, Fire TV's, Chromecasts (the new one) and the NVIDIA Shield TV and prefer the Apple TV to them all.

Side note: make sure you watch Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet. Both are incredible shows Smilie

Make sure you use a new Apple ID when activating your Apple TV to get the 1 year Apple TV+ if you previously redeemed Apple TV+

Is there any reason to buy this if we have a smart TV with all the apps? I'm really not aware of the advantage, TIA

Does anybody use this with the iPhone Apple TV remote build into dock of the phone? How useful is it?

Nope. Smart TV is fine. Unless you want AirPlay capabilities of Apple TV

Smart TVs suck, with their slow outdated interface and apps. Apple TV is the way to go for the best streaming experience.

I do. For standard moving around on the Apple TV itself, not super useful (although honestly may be better than the old Siri remote!) For inputting passwords and account information, on the other hand, tremendously useful!

Granted that use case isn't all the time, but if I ever have to type in information like that on my Apple TV, I always grab for my iPhone.

Hope that helps!
