These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.
Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.
Last time I "converted" my 1% card to the 1.5% cash wise card they pulled a hard credit check even after stating they would not. Anyone check their credit report?
Found out you can do it in app or via online banking... go to other services and click switch card. Unfortunately, I think you can only switch from another visa to this visa without doing hard inquiry... but you should check. I had a different visa product with WF and was able to convert without a pull.
are they seriously still in business? I thought they just opened up accounts for you anyways so you don't even need to sign up to bank on this deal...
smh...
Sorry Wells Fargo - but you still suffer from a lack of trust...
Dude they are humongous and basically to big too fail. Like most things, they will get a slap on the wrist and move on.

Excellent, my cashwise card was laying dormit in a drawer. I have the Citi double cash but having a visa 2% card will come in handy.

Wells Fargo just starting closing a bunch of personal accounts. Not sure it is worth dealing with them.

ahhaha ... i complete agree ...
i have a citi double cash back which gives me 2% but trust citi way more then wells fargo
I was already a Wells Fargo card holder; I had an older 1% rewards "Home Rebate" card that paid off my mortgage, but Wells Fargo no longer has my mortgage.
I was able to product change to this card over the phone. I didn't get the current sign up bonuses but I didn't need a credit check and I kept my credit limits.
I am not sure if that is useful but I thought it was pretty cool of them.
I applied for this WF card a couple of weeks ago. After the hard pull, they sent me a mail (not an email) asking for my last 2 pay stubs and the only way to submit it is via regular mail or fax, that's so stupid !

Fidelity Visa credit card will give you 3% cash back into your brokerage account as long as you have two million in fidelity manage accounts
Double Cash is a Mastercard.
I was able to convert my existing WF card (Cash Wise 1.5% cash back) to this online in like 15 clicks.
I do lose some benefits but I'd rather the higher cashback. I've rarely been able to take advantage of other benefits anyway. These are lost:
Auto rental CDW
Travel accident insurance
Extended warranty
Price protection
Purchase security
Lost luggage
Trip cancellation
The extended warranty would probably make me use a different card for large expenses where an extended warranty is worth a small bit less cash back.
