It really doesn't. Most of the rule books are just pages explaining every single action/card type in the game. It is an easy to learn game. Lay a card in the correct left most unfilled square in a row by paying the egg cost along the top of the board + food cost on the card or take one of three actions (left most uncovered square in a row followed by what it says on each bird card in the row moving from right to left). Next players turn.

Huge board game player, own 200+. This is one of our favorites. Strategic enough that it's fun, but the theme and game play have an appeal to other friends and family that would not play many other more heavier board games.
Not that this one is that heavy.

The digital version is on sale on steam, and the physical version also includes a stackable coupon code. The app includes a fantastic tutorial if you want to skip the rulebook. The rules may seem complicated to nongamers but it is actually quite simple. Easy enough to handle if you played some modern board games like Ticket To Ride, Carcassonne, King of Tokyo, or others found at popular retailers. It can also be used to introduce new people to the hobby but I would recommend at least one person be familiar with the game.

I am sooo tempted but I just learned I can get it for the laptop. I think my son might be more enticed with the digital version.

My wife just spent 65 dollars on this game. It is very beautiful. I have yet to play it. I may never play it. Because it has a lot of instructions. But it's beautiful.

Truly a beautiful game. Very high quality construction and just a visual and tactile pleasure to play. Easy engine building mechanics with a surprising depth of play. Recommended for those who like board games as well as those who don't (the art and theme really wins people over with its charm).

Swift start cards are where it's at. So easy to get newbs sucked into the World of Wingspan. Excellent price for an excellent game.

Keep an eye out at Target! I just picked it up last Tuesday for about $32 before tax by stacking their 5% Red Card, 25% off games discount, and $25 off $100 (I picked up 3 other games to make it happen).

Fantastic game, best at lower player counts. It's great with 1-3 players, good with 4 players, and pretty long with five.

Most board game to pc translations are god awful. This one nails it.

I play a lot with my sister and brother on the internet. Great game to chill.
