My only complain is that the D-Pad is pretty bad, you have to press evenly for it to register left and right correctly, otherwise it always goes a little up or down especially when you press right, and some games or apps don't support the thumb stick, you have to use D Pad. I wonder if I got a faulty?
I'm waiting for a gen 2 version (no talks of one being made as of now). Works great but there are a few things that could be better (D-pad and triggers)

A much better option would be to get an actual XB1 controller and a basic phone mount, which would be cheaper and have much more use outside of just pairing up with a phone.
Side note, I have a Razer Phone 2, which you'd think would work exceptionally well with this device... though, it does not. It's not as snug-fitting as you'd think either. Oddly, there's no matching RGB to keep with the aesthetic. Also, it does not fast charge while connected. What makes no sense is that it doesn't even come with a built-in battery to extend gaming sessions.
Bottom line: this is a cheap-feeling product that is incredibly overpriced and doesn't work as well as it should. The buttons are certainly not very good and wouldn't really be a good buy unless priced around maybe $20. There's no innovation here; it's just Razer putting out yet another trash product that doesn't do anything special, nor does it do anything well for that matter.
Don't buy this.

I highly recommend it for those looking to stream Steam or their PS5 to their phones.
The controller is two pieces connected by a floppy cable which is kind of weird feeling but once you stretch it on to your phone and it's locked in place it feels solid to me.

Although i do believe the kishi has a slightly noticable input latency improvement, and better ergonomics, i am not convinced that it is a better buy than a bluetooth controller, especially considering the premium added to the cost. Lacking bluetooth is a real con for me, as I sometimes connect my phone to the tv via hdmi and use the bt controller from the couch.
The only reason I am not returning the kishi is because while testing i realized that steam link now allows connections from multiple devices for remote play! I also saw on reddit that the kishi works via usb on windows if you can find the right adapter cable.
So imo, at this price i think you are better off with a bluetooth controller. Maybe this depends on your skill level or the games you play, but even with barrierx (the best game i have to test input latency!) My best times were within a second of each other over remote steam link with about 90ms of latency on the connection. Even if usb c is 50+ milliseconds improved over bluetooth, it doesnt seem to translate to much with remote gaming. YMMV
