I have the one pictured for about a year now. Waterproof is a loose term. I guess it won't soak the shoe material but your feet will get wet. It's a very breathable and comfy shoe. The grip is pretty decent on the trails. I use it for hiking at first and I use them almost daily and they're holding up quite well.

I've been looking for waterproof hiking shoes. Anyone have feedback on how good these are? They say they are waterproof.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've read reviews since posting my question and seems others agree that they are not really waterproof.

Definitely took a page out of Adidas's design book. Curious about the performance

I have them as well and they are a lot more waterproof than those reviews let on. Mine are the blue colorway and while I haven't stood still in a puddle that covers the shoe with them, I've worn them in the rain and snow multiple times and only once did my feet wet. These shoes sit somewhere between a normal hiking shoe and a truly waterproof non-breathable hiking shoe.

This is definitely not a hiker shoe. It can cause injury on an uneven terrain. The upper shoe is made of an elastic material. Without a good side support, the foot tends to slip out of the shoe when you step on a rock. I bought this and I am treating this as a sneaker. I bought this for 39.99 from sierra trading post. The bottom grip is decent, not great. The most annoying thing is to wear this on and off. Waterproofing is a misnomer. The dew on the grass made my socks soaked.

How do they run sizing wise? Thinking about getting for my trip to Iceland (hikes no longer than 3-4 hours).

Do you have any suggestions for good hiking shoes?

It depends on where you hike. If it is in New England, you need a good boots from Oboz, Asolo. They are bit expensive but last longer. NE mountains are all rocky and boulders. The front of the shoe gets kicked and loses the waterproof soon. If you want not so expensive, Keen or North face that have decent ones. Merrell doesn't lost more than year, even the hire end ones. I usually buy mine from Sierra trading post. Stay away from the direct outlet stores. They are expensive than their retailers. This shoe is still on Sale at Sierra for $40. Even with shipping this deal is expensive.
