Sheesh. It's 2021 and you're buying one of these… oh wait I forgot there's nothing more to life than being a cheap miser 👎

Get real. How much money do you make a year? What kind of water heater do you have in your house? Do you have a house? Will you live in it long enough to realize your savings after spending thousands of dollars by upgrading your electrical or switching to gas to acommodate a tankless heater? Do you worry about keeping your job every single day? Do you have other homeowner priorities facing you during these tough times?

I was in a jam and this deal really helped me out.

Hehe…

How much money do I make: 90k, but my ex wife framed me and is stealing half my income while she abuses our son.

What kind of water heater do I have: currently nat. gas. Must replace. Climate change is real. There is no deal I can find for hybrid so will be paying full price for a 50 gal from Menards today for the 11% cash back.

I own a house.

I am not a cheap miser, so I may lose money on this. My ideological values are worth more to me than money.

I do worry about keeping my job pretty much every day.

I have to have my chimney taken down from the roof as it is leaking. I have extensive animal damage in my upstairs from before I bought the house 3 years ago (see divorce). My electrical is out of date and dangerous and is a total mess and limiting for doing anything. Remember: I actually make more like 50k but get taxed on 90k and also I have a lot of debt from the marriage still.

I'd say I'm in a jam, too, but why don't you tell me?

Your statements are all about you. There's a planet full of people who say the same thing. Check the weather lately? Forecast: not good. I also drive an EV. Do you think I can afford it? No. I make it work because if I don't then I know for sure that you won't.

Anyway - you pay less now while I pay more now. In the long run you will pay more, though; possibly much more. This water heater is highly inefficient, and electric rates are almost certain to go up. Hybrid uses 70 - 80% less electricity than this. Even at full price I'm pretty sure the hybrid is a better deal over time.
