I bought three of these the last FP deal- was trying to place one in each of the bathrooms in the house. It looks nice, but the open/close is a bit of a pain. It either doesn't open all the time or close or sometimes opens randomly- not sure if its sensing a shadow. I hope maybe it was just the one I opened, but I returned the other 2. Hopefully others had/have a better experience.

Always keep the box until the return date has passed or when they warranty has expired in case you need to ship an item in for fixing.

i don't see any issues with sensor, you dont need to keep hand near sensor any object near sensor works fine

who is making you buy 13 gallon? should be proportionate to amount of trash you generate/day or before it starts to stink, what you put in trash etc.
Did it occur to you that s/he makes 13 gallons of trash/day or before it starts to stink?

Agreed. Walmart has good prices on stainless steel garbage cans. You just need one with a pedal, not sensor. You don't want to be waiting for the lid to open or have small kids and pets able to open the lid.

Some are talking about the amount of trash before it starts to stink. I never put anything into my big/main trash can that's going to smell I put in a container in the freezer or in a smaller container that goes into the trash compactor every couple of days.
