Not lazy. Sometimes you travel and don't have access to anything but a microwave. And you have true Asian children who…. Really don't eat any fast food….. so rice and pork floss it is. Or even rice and soy sauce. 🤷🏻 ♀️

This is a good brand of microwave rice. I have some on hand for days I forgot to make rice and dinner is already done, or if I need just a little bit more rice and don't want to make another batch. It's good backup rice.

Rice with soy sauce & sesame oil is delicious. Give it a try. Heck wrap it with toasted sea weed.
I am a Chinese and I agree soy sauce is probably among the last thing I will add to rice.

If I have to add a sauce to rice, I will probably add Shacha Sauce, oyster sauce, etc before adding soy sauce... (Some people actually add coke or tea to rice, but personally I don't really like that)

Speaking of sesame oil, sometimes I make cold noodle with Somen (or noodle with similar texture) w/ oyster sauce and sesame oil during summer time. It is simple to make and taste pretty good imo.

Little over $10 after 15% ss. Hopefully they dont have a near expiration date. If they do you could always freeze it as i freeze rice pretty often.

Are Japanese people not considered Asian?
If they are, then you don't know about TKG do you? Google " Tamago kake gohan", it's one of the most common ways Japanese people eat rice, with raw eggs and soy sauce.

That is not true. I'm Asian, at least in Taiwan and Japan, rice mixed with soy sauce is a very common thing. In Taiwan, rice mixed with soy sauce (and sometimes with lard as well) was very popular in the old days, many people still enjoy it today. Japanese would have a bowl of rice mixed with soy sauce and raw egg york (aka. T.K.G) or soy sauce and bonito flakes.

That's with egg. That's different. In America, people just eat rice with soy sauce, which no asians do.

I am Korean and I do eat rice with soy sauce but I also add egg & mayo, too. It's pretty common way to eat in Korea.

Point is, no one in Asia eat purely just soy sauce and rice together. They usually add something else to it.

Add uncooked egg when rice is hot. Many Korean eat this way.

So asian americans aren't asian?
I don't like to eat rice with just only soy sauce but I have seen asian parents in america give their kids rice and soy sauce when they're in a pinch and the kids/tots are being picky.. especially at restaurants

back on topic, when I lived in south korea for a year, we lived off of these when we wanted our rice fix at our apartment. rice dishes in korea weren't even close to the south eastern flavors I was used to and it wasn't worth it for us to buy a rice cooker or a bag of rice that we wouldn't finish in the year we were there.
Growing up with rice cooker rice, these worked for us and it surprised me how much I didn't mind it.

But they never eat only rice+soy sauce. They put soy sauce because they put raw eggs.

I'm Taiwanese and I didn't believe you at first since I've ever seen anyone eat rice with soy sauce. But you're right, some Taiwanese people do eat rice like this. I had to call my mom to confirm this lol.

According to her, food was harder to come by/readily available when she was little, so they would eat a hot bowl of rice + little bit of soy sauce + a little bit of pork/lamb fat for breakfast. They only use a little bit of soy sauce (not drench the rice in it like I originally thought..) and the fat gives it flavor. She says it actually taste pretty good and will be making some for me to try next time I go home Big Grin

I understand it, I even enjoy it. The problem is it's terrible. We should not allow this to exist. When deatomization exists to turn this packaging back into desired resources then you're allowed to sell this.

An individual human simply produces too much waste, and I'm not talking biological. Everything is packaged twice, restaurant food is in styrofoam or something equally shit. We're drowning ourselves in 'convenience', life is movement. It's action! This is a problem that overwhelmed the world in an extremely short time, we're talking 50 years or less. 75 years ago? Did the oceans have mountains of plastic? No.

Humanity ducked up so big it doesn't know how to even attempt fixing it.
