1) If it's not a deal then please link me to a lower priced new MIM Fender Tele from an official Fender dealer.
2) They order more.

I have this on alert---it's always been $519. When did it get to $480? You sure it was the same guitar?
It was $479.99 back in November, 2019. It was definitely the same guitar, because I bought one. I have not seen the price go that low again (but maybe it has).

I don't think we'll see these Adorama Lake Placid Blue Player 'casters as low as $480 ever again, because fender did across-the-board price increases sometime in the past few months. (I forget by how much... $70 increase?) Its still a great guitar for the money, though, I really like mine.

What's also nice about Adorama is you'll definitely get a new, unopened since-the-factory Fender box packed *within* the shipping box, complete with all the tags and such, and actually from Adorama. (Whereas Musician's Friend "deals" aren't new-in-box guitars, but are actually sent out by their parent company Guitar Center and are gear previously returned to a Guitar Center or are demo-gear / floor-models off a Guitar Center wall. Its happened to me 2x with Musicians Friend and I've heard the same from others, so I like my pristine, new-in-box Player Stratocaster from Adorama even more.)

Has anyone had to do a return, and if so know what the cost of return shipping was?

If there is something wrong with the guitar, they don't charge the customer for returns. If you return it because you changed your mind, they do (but I don't remember what the cost was).

I've ordered 4 guitars from Musician's Friend and all have been brand new. They did send me an amp once that looked like it may have been a demo due to a few small cosmetic blemishes, although it was still in a sealed (stapled as usual) Fender box. They offered to replace it for free or give me an additional substantial discount.

Just received the tele yesterday. Bad news is there is a small neck pocket crack. Hopefully I will receive a partial refund or I will return and buy a new one. This is my 6th guitar from adorama and my first ever problem. Good(unexpected) news is it's a 2021, 75th annv. edition! Set up is even good, no dead frets, straight neck. One piece maple on maple fretboard/neck. I am impressed by the gloss on the fretboard. The color is a little different than my American lpb tele, but not tide poolish at all. The headstock is a little skinnier than an American. Great price especially for a 2021.

Dude. Give it a rest. If you think they're simply selling "surplus stock" and have been for the last two years, you're not using your head. How many do think they started with that they're still not gone? This goes front page every time, and they sell hundreds. This will end, they will order more, and then they'll sell more.

How is a 2021 75th anniversary model "surplus stock"? My serial # is from this year. These haven't been sitting around somewhere. This is an exclusive color.

Companies do this stuff all the time. They make exclusive color or package and skill changes for various retailers. This is to prevent price matching for various retailers who might not have the buying power as the other. Adorama might be buying so many or have so many order that they're getting them for a cost that is much less than what Guitar center or another Mom and Pop Shop would. So this color, lake placid blue might be exclusive when it comes to adorama just because of the Rama has that color blue in their logo. If people are talking about they're getting 75 anniversary editions and other little stickers.. they're also saying they're getting serial number with the year 21, it can't be surplus. Companies rarely go back to make a product retrofitted... They might put a sticker on top of something or on the box.. but this would be taking those guitars apart and putting a new neck on it or something like that. That's not happening here
