This is pretty common for all mowers. 16 inches refers to the deck width. The cutting width however, refers to the blade length. The blade has to fit inside the deck, so it is slightly shorter...in this case by a half an inch on each side.

FWIW I've had this mower for going on four seasons and haven't had any problems with it. Still holds a good charge. It is a smaller mower with a smaller bag. It takes me about 30-45 min to do my whole yard (with 2-3 bag dumps) and the battery still lasts. I'll upgrade to an EGO whenever this one craps out.

This is similar to what I paid for it and I've more than gotten my money's worth. If you're looking to try an electric mower, it's a good entry level option.

While this is a good deal, Snowjoe (including this Sunjoe) products are hit or miss as far as quality control and durability.

I'm impressed an olympic sized pool.

You need a bigger machine or swap out your gate.

Are you crazy?

He/she has about 3900-4900 Square feet of lawn.
Oh wait, you're right. I thought he only had 3 x 12' of area. Not 12' times the length of three sides.

would a 15' x 15' be considered a small lawn?
I would consider that fairly small if that's the whole yard including back and front. Just think about it in turns of how many passes you will have to make and how long you think it'll take. Another factor is you don't want the battery running out midway through.

the size i quote is strictly the grass and not the entire yard Smilie

can the mower be stored outside (rain), as long as battery is dry?

My arid, desert-like lawn with only the sparse green of crab grass laughs mercilessly at electric lawnmowers . . . even corded ones. I have another pre-exhaust restrictions toro on order . . . fingers crossed.

I'll echo this. I'm up on my 5th season and happy with my purchase. IIRC, I paid this same discounted price years ago thinking it was only going to last me a few years.

I keep the battery always charged, and sharpen the blade with a file every few mows. I keep it on the highest setting as I've found motor struggles with a shorter mow.

The foam wrap on the handle does break down but I'm happy with a light mower that I can carry in and out of my basement (bilco doors). I have 2500-3000 SQ ft of lawn which handles fine on one charge. Hope this perspective helps someone.

For a small, flat yard, how hard is this to push? Just moved into a new place and the local gardeners want exorbitant rates, so I thought I'd give it a go myself since it's only about 700sqft of lawn... but have been debating between picking this up or the larger, self propelled Ryobi model for $349 at HD.

I have a 4000 sqft yard and use this once a week. First one crapped out 1.5 years in (would start for 5 seconds and then turn off). It was right before the warranty expires, so SunJoe sent me a brand new one sans battery. The new one is approaching 2 years old and I am still able to do the entire yard with the original battery. I find sharpening the blades once a month is crucial. The lightweight and small footprint makes maneuvering easy. If you hit anything with the front wheel it makes a terrible sound when the blade hits the plastic deck. The bracket holding the back wheels shaft is starting to bend as well, and makes it difficult to push. I won't buy it again, but its good if you have a small yard and don't mind making a few more passes, and potentially swapping for a nicer one later on.

Looks comparable to the EGO 56v and Kobalt & Greenworks 80v mowers that I've been watching for a while.

It's a mix of Zoysia and Bermuda. I'm in Alabama so maybe?

I have ordered from woot three times, and all three times, including this lawn mower was "delayed in transit" and never arrives. I either have the worst luck with woot, or they do not ship to my area.

Do not buy from woot. They are a horrible company, and if you ever have an issue you will never be able to get a hold of anyone to fix the issue. Woot sucks!
