their 12k btu is rated at 10k actual cooling
some of these others are dreadful you buy a 14k btu unit that cools like a 5-6k unit.
They also don't need to obey/list power efficiency.
Consumer Reports says the high end LG models are barely acceptable.
Agree these things are trash in general
First Don't cut the straps, simply pull them off. Then simply tilt it to cut the packing tape on the bottom. Then you can simply lift the box straight up without hurting your back. They do this with large TVs, same thing.

last deal had the 12k version for just $20 more but not now. Was $389.00
I'll take a Ukoke over a GE any day!
Bought one of those based on your suggestion. My Costco didn't have them in store unfortunately so I'll probably get it at the end of July since shipping has been delayed everywhere in general. Hope it works out, cheaper than a mini split, although less efficient.
only buy it as a last resort.

The Danby one a few comments above yours is a dual hose, and it's hose in hose so you only have one tube instead of a dual tube mess. Same function, better aesthetic. $400

I purchased a Haier 13,500-BTU (dual hose) from bjs in May 2019. Does a great job of cooling a 250 sqft room, quieter than wall units in other rooms, and it's easy to take out of the window in the winter. It had good reviews. Sorry but can't find the model no. Never say never.

Sounds like the Danby might be slightly quieter so I'll it a month or so while I decide if it's worth exchanging and paying non club prices. I just wish there was one notch lower on the fan settings, but I'm adapting to it.
I don't know much about this Dry setting. Don't think I need it in the PNW and don't want to mess with a drain kit.
