Shouldn't be an issue on this card I don't think. On the splash page it says: "There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn and your points don't expire with this card."
 still wouldn't trust 'em.

Read that clause carefully. I expect that promise is superseded if you cancel the card or -- as in my case -- if Citi unilaterally cancels the card due to insufficiently-frequent use.

They just approved me...with a credit line of $3400 lol, I still qualify for the offer as long as I use the $3400 pay it off and then spend another $600 right?. I'm new to this.

You can literally pay $600 in advance to Citi if money is no object, and then charge $4,000.

Citi accepts multiple payments online on the same day.

No fishy business here.

Citi points expire between 0 to 60 days depending upon the card cancelled, only upon cancellation.

No funny business.

Also, if you downgrade to a no fee card, that you obviously didn't have already, no expiration of related points. But I'd want to be safe than sorry.

I redeemed my points online literally while on phone with card cancellation.

Citi has actually made some improvements on this front. There are now options to redeem for cash or statement credit at 1cpp.
Are you saying the 80k point can be redeemed for $800 cash?

Let us know how it goes with respect to amex.

I just closed out my Thank You universe. Thinking of going for Amex Platinum, but have 2 CSR in the family so not sure if worth it to take on another hefty fee card.

I could cancel one CSR and move to Amex.
Just got the Amex Gold last month since I eat out a lot with family (6 of us usually) as my dining card. I'll be getting the Amex BBP for it's unrestricted 2x MR and $0 AF and for the third, it's either the vanilla Amex Plat/CSR for Flights/Hotels (again my wife and I pay for the 6 of us) so dining/travel has potential to earn lots of points.

I'll wait until the CSP/CSR rumored updates are announced next month? Chases travel category is extremely generous compared to Amex so I'm leaning towards the CSR. I don't churn so these cards are here to stay so I'm just trying to make the best informed decision I can for my personal use.

I personally did this 3 days ago so yes.

It's a 100 points to a dollar ratio.

Any reason the other poster said so?

edit:
oh sorry. I was on the prestige card. not sure if that makes a difference?

You can redeem for cash, but the redemption formula is terrible. The 80k in points will redeem for only $400 in cash. Your best value is to redeem for $800 in gift cards.

How do you say so? Cash gives you the same value as gift cards to my knowledge.

Does the annual fee count towards the $4,000 requirement in the first 3 months?

Can I cancel this CC after using for just one year without penalty?

This isn't correct. I have the Premier Card and just checked the thank you conversion page. 80k can be converted to $800.

Thanks. That's very helpful! $700 after AF for $4k spent seems decent.

Do you guys think if we apply for this card and Citi Custom Cash card at the same time (submit application within 1 minute) to get a better chance of getting approved?
