Oh gotcha. I didn't read the hospital bill part. Yes, if that's the case open up credit cards in anticipation of upcoming bill.
But try to get the approval for CSP card first because of the 5 cards within last 24 month rule unless you don't regularly churn often.

So no cash back with points just gift cards?
You can do direct deposit into bank, statement credit, or check in the mail. Those all get 1 cpp, do 80k points = $800 for any of those options.

Sapphire Reserve is a different class of card plus it has a $300 travel credit which brings the effective fee down to $250.

This card is more in line with the Sapphire Preferred, in which case I'd still choose the Preferred because the SUB is worth way more, the points are worth 1.25cpp vs 1cpp on the Citi, and you can pair the Chase Sapphire's with the Freedom to get even more value.
This article talks about combining the Sapphire Preferred card with the Freedom Unlimited: https://time.com/nextadvisor/cred...unlimited/

Does the same 'trick' with points work with any ultimate rewards card? For instance I've had a standard freedom card for 15 years and would rather not get a Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred just to take advantage of this travel deal.

Does anyone know if this card gives you instant access like some other credit cards do? I have a 2k purchase I need to make Friday so I was thinking of getting this. But not sure if it gives you the number and expiration on the page when they approve you.

Can someone that did it let me know please?

Are people as actually holding TYP or all cash out? The partners are so unpleasant to use, and Citi is a low-rent issuer these days right down there with Synchrony, Comenity bank, etc

No, you won't get the card number and expiration date upon approval. I applied last week so I'm still waiting for the card to arrive. You may be able to add it to Apple Wallet before receiving the card, but I ran into an issue trying to do that so I'm just gonna sit tight. I might try adding it to PayPal, but I'm not in a rush right now.

I would get both cards if I had spare cash. Load up GCs to meet the minimum spend. You will be spending very much for your new family member anyway. It is just like you are paying today for tomorrow's expenses but you are pocketing the cash from the generous sign-up bonus. It also makes no sense by taking 0% financing when you have the cash and not need to finance at all.

I have a baby coming up in November. And I would be eligible for CSP on Oct 25th. Do you guys think I would be able to spend $8k?

Should I spend it that way or get a 0% April from the hospital? We already saved money just for the delivery. So, if we spend $8k, we can pay it back the next day.

Yeah, I can buy Costco gift cards. Nice. Thanks. All those diapers I would need to buy anyway. Smilie

Just prepay whatever you are allowed to. Cell phone, utility bills, internet & streaming, auto insurance, prepaying tax to IRS, loading up gift cards, splitting bills with friends.....

Too many credit pulls/checks i believe. I tried opening target red card the week prior and a few other cards. I went and applied for well fargo cc and got accepted few hours later no problem.

Where do you get the # and expiration date? I applied having logged into my existing Citibank website account, and I still don't see it. Help. I have a big charge I need to make soon.

Yes, you can freely transfer URs from any of the cards in the family to any of the other UR cards. So regular freedom to CSP would work fine as I've personally done that along with Freedom Unlimited to CSP, etc.

Generally, people would spend on the 5x categories on the regular freedom/flex. "Other" spend at 1.5x on the Freedom Unlimited and then 3x on dining or whatever, and then travel spend on the Sapphire. Then move all the URs over to the CSP/CSR to get higher redeem values.

This is humiliating (understandable) I got approved for $3000. My first card with Citi in 2011 was $3500. That was my first ever credit card in the USA.

Reasons:
I recently bought a home in Dec 2020.
My other two Citi credit cards have limits $22000 and $11000. I've used close to $27500 for balance transfers.

But damn, just $3000?

I still have to open a credit card for CSP.
