Of course everyone's situation is different and you should use your points however you want, but I save my points accrued from my freedom and CSR cards to transfer to travel partners (can only do this if you have one of the sapphire cards). I am able to get around 2 cents / point (100% extra redemption value) when using points to pay for the cheapest Southwest flights through Southwest website (southwest flights seem to have better point redemption value the cheaper the flight). The Points Guy website also has nice articles on how to redeem chase points for much better value than 10%, 25%, even 50%, for sapphire owners. Just a friendly PSA - hope someone finds this interesting/useful!
Yeah, you get a bonus but travel is still way better. I only have the sapphire preferred and it has a 25% bonus for travel and the reserve is even better at 50% travel bonus.
This is prob to compete with discover 5% this quarter?

Would you be able to ELI5 what exactly this means? I usually just cash out to my bank the points I have but is this making them worth 10% more when I use them to pay for previous restaurant purchases? "Your 10,xxx points can be worth from $119 to $135 when you redeem them for eligible purchases"

That's exactly right. Any restaurant purchases you made with your eligible cards are eligible for this, so you essentially get 10% more for paying off your restaurants purchases instead of depositing them to your bank.

Cool. Thank you. Yeah, I don't travel much right now to be honest and only have the Flex card.

That's correct 10% more value for your point..chase almost never give more value while redeeming points as credit back ..but this is a good offer ..thanks op
In my CSP account, it looks like I'm getting 25% instead of 10% for the pay yourself on dining. I know 25 > 10 but should I be indifferent at this rate vs saving it for travel purchases through the UR portal?
