Super easy to change weights you pull out the plastic pin and move it to the desired weight slot. The only thing that takes a minute is if you want 2.5 pound increments because then you need to remove the chrome adder weights you see in the picture. Still you're talking about a few seconds.

The wrist bars only get in the way if you're bending your wrist which you shouldn't do (puts pressure on your wrist and can cause strain). PowerBlocks also has a pro version that doesn't have wrist supports on the top so it's a more open feel. I have both and don't find myself reaching for one type over the other.

The only caution I have is this set is not expandable. PowerBlocks has an EXP (expandable) range that allows for additional weight to make the set go from 50-70 and then another from 70-90 so if you want heavier weights this isn't the pair for you.

Happy to answer any other questions for anyone (background, I'm a certified personal trainer, have had Bowflex SelectTech 552s for 10 years, PowerBlocks, a full rack of individual cast iron dumbbells). Also there are tons of great review videos on YouTube 👍

Great find! I posted a Core Health Fitness adj dumbell set a few days ago, and I can tell you that CR rated the Power Blocks (PB) very highly esp due to their high adjustability increments (15 difft settings). The PBs tied for 2nd best adj dumbbell set with the CHF set (score of 83). Also, CR noted the as tested price at the time of review was $480, so this is a great deal. Woot often sells out, so if you need/really want these, I'd jump on them.

I was getting ready to pull the trigger on the CORE Home Fitness and then I saw these posted. Any recommendations on which one to go with?

The way the grip is located inside the rectangular frame makes me think this will hit your wrist or forearm if/when the wrist bends. Also, how easy is it to change the weight? Any thoughts?

It does hit your wrist if you don't keep your wrists straight or have them horizontal. The weight change is about the best there is and feels pretty solid

I checked these out at my friend's place and man these are the most awkward dumbbells ever. also making a few excerices impossible to do with this design.
CHF seemed to be one of the easiest and NORMAL dumbbell there is.

I need 150 pound dumbbell............. for my work up reps

IronMaster is the only adjustable option at that weight range that I'm aware of

If you want a traditional dumbbell feel the Core Home Fitness might be a better option. I can't speak to their durability but they generally get great reviews. The biggest benefit of PowerBlocks is their expansion kits where you can increase the total weight but this version on sale at Woot is not expandable.
