Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

nice price drop but ppl seem to say it has wifi extended drop out issues. I love oled and burn in issue is really not much of an issue on tvs. but I do worry about it on monitors.

I saw this in morning today & was wondering if i should post this as a deal. Simply looking at the specs looks like a great deal. BUT, there's a big BUT!
QC issues & actual user reviews don't look promising.
If Gigabyte had a good after sales service, i would have jumped on this deal. Buying Geeksquad warranty will just kill the deal.
Might be a good gamble for someone ready to deal with Gigabyte after sales service (just in case).

It has an nvme wifi card so you can swap to whatever you want but.. . Im not sure I would put much faith in people who say wifi drops out. Most of them don't know what they are doing or know how to take 802.11 pcaps to figure out what is going on. Hell half of them don't even know what frequency band they are running on. I've had an Intel ax200 that is in this for over 6 months and no issues. I exclusively use ax though, not b/g/n/ac. I bet most of the 'dropped wifi' people are on 2.4ghz g/n and that's just asking for trouble. No one should be using it for a device like this since it has been around since the late 90s, has been saturated by garbage IOT devices, Bluetooth interference, etc, and only has 3 non overlapping channels to choose from so there is no getting away from those devices crowding up the spectrum.
I totally agree on the oled burn-in thing. Plus who needs 4k on a 15 inch screen unless you are going to break out a magnifying glass..

Some reviewer actually swapped it and said it still had wifi drop out. Not sure why though

Hmmm looks like a nice build...love that keyboard layout...hate the IO on the sides though...but for 1400 plus tax....if you can snag 10% cash back and the sum then this is not a bad deal at all

and the USB-C port doesn't input power is ridiculous....

gigabyte seems to have quality issue at least with this series thru the years. But for the spec and components, this is pretty slick. The 4k AMOLED is more for creators who needs high quality screen on laptop. The 3060 at 105w is not bad, consider 3070 and 3080 only has similar power to spare, meaning you get more use of that 3060 than other config although they do get a little more frame rate at this power if that's what you are shooting for. Most laptop of this dimension can only provide 100w or so for the GPU due to cooling limitation. Not sure about the return policy, but I would try to test every component and see if anything is defective and get return/replace if needs to.

Thats what I read... Kind of a dealbreaker... Having to carry a brick. But I'm going to be using this primarily as a main desktop

Yeah I really wanted a 3070, but I lean more towards value. I don't think having just a few more fps is worth the price for 3070 or 3080...

The Newegg ones isn't a good deal compared to BB because you have to deal with rebates and it's half the storage too

USB-C cannot handle over 100 watts at the moment. In the near future yes, but at the moment gaming laptops with power hungry GPUs will still have a power brick
