Best Buy is selling a 1 pack Eero 6 Router for $83. Add 3 to the cart and it drops to $75.34 per unit - $226 for all 3. A 3 pack of the routers is normally $349, so this is a great deal. You can hardwire all of them since it's not the extenders.

Eero was around before Amazon bought them recently. And their products have had quality ratings over the last several years so I'm confused how the product is now worse now that Amazon has purchased them. Amazon didn't create the eero brand like their relabeled Amazon basics stuff.

If there's something specific then let everybody know outside of the fact that Amazon has purchased that company. Older users familiar with eero are also used to a high quality standard they have had for some time.
Speeds are much faster if you are hard wired. We have a two story house and we have one on each level and speeds are really good because they are all hard wired on each level.
Devices add up pretty quickly...don't underestimate how many computers, phones, tablets, smart watches, game consoles, tv's, alexa/google devices, stoves, washer, dryer, speakers, bulbs, and countless other items all add up. I wouldn't say I have even the average number of devices a small family would have and I'm up to low twenties.

main eero site offer 35% off on selected system until July 25. I got the 3x Eeros package for $181. Use STANHOPE code for free overnight shipping.
Is that package you got 3 routers like this deal or 1 router and 2 extenders? Think I've read that returns can be a real bear when purchasing directly from Eero.

I paid this on Prime Day to upgrade from my Eero Wifi 5 Router + 2 beacons. Didn't have much reason to, i only have one Wifi 6 device (ipad Pro m1). But it is vastly faster. I hooked one of the routers via ethernet to my server downstairs and no longer run an ethernet cable upstairs to a switch or router. Can block and unblock devices from the network with ease.

I would definitely opt for the 3 routers over the 1 + 2 beacons every time after my experiences.

If you dont need wifi 6, which i cannot even name one of my equipment that does wifi 6 the costco tplink deco m9 tri band at $159 for 3 nodes and any of those nodes can be your router is a better deal imo, all nodes come with 2 lan port so one port can be wired backhaul and the other port can be for a switch to multiply the port, i have 5 in my house, kinda overkill but my brother needed 4 so we bought 3 packages lol

I was curious on this exact question so I did some youtube research. It seems there's a substantial decrease of speed in the comparison videos I watched. One video in particular was 400MBS coming into the house. Tested on an iphone 12 Pro with the new WIFI ax.

Option 1. 1 router and 1 wireless beacon. averaged 189MBS
Option 2. 2 routers both wired to each other, averaged 423MBS
Option 3. 1 router and 1 router wireless, averaged 198MBS

From what I'm seeing, it seems like, if there's ANY chance you might wire in an extra router, just go with the 3 routers. At least then you have the option to hard wire. If you go with the beacons, you're wireless no matter what, even if you change your mind later. I guess it's better to spend $25-50 and have the option to wire, than not.
I'm in for 3. Been looking for a price cut for a while.
Thanks OP. Thumbs up and repped!
Just so it's clear, there is only benefit to the 3 router setup, if they are hardwired to each other, and if hardwiring is a challenge where it would cost more to hire a pro to get the wiring done properly between floors etc. then the 1 router-2 beacons would work just as fine as the 3 router wireless?

From the video I watched, yes.

"I'm trying to decide what the difference is with the eero 6 and 2 extenders vs 3 eero 6's. From what I am seeing is the routers have the extra Ethernet port and a little more range?"

https://old.reddit.com/r/eero/com..._3_eero_6/
https://eero.com/compare

I picked up the 3-router option for the parent's home network. If they ever hardware between floors then these can backhaul. The extenders don't have that feature.

I ordered the Eero 1 router + 2 beacons pack, but decided to also try the TPlink Deco M9 from Costco to compare. I only got the Eero for future-proofing and don't actually have any wifi 6 devices so the TPlink may be more than enough for my needs.

Checked the website. It's for 1 router and 2 extenders. Not the same as what we're discussing here.

Would using this obviate the need to use a LAN cable directly to my computer on the floor above? Right now I have to hard wire my computer and running a lan cable is not very convenient.

I'm wondering something similar. If you have 3 routers, and use them all wirelessly, can I use the ports to wire in devices, so they don't have to use wireless?

Does this improve throughput, or at least latency? I would appreciate any advice that anyone can provide. Thanks.

Cool, man. I was wondering about that model as well, since it has tri-band. I would appreciate any info on performance differences.

I also hear that, with eero, the build-in software won't let your computers use the router to communicate if the Internet goes down. What's the software on the TPlink Deco like?
