The only downside to the new TP-link routers are the the inclusion of HomeShield, which sounds like a good thing on the surface, but if you want basic stuff like DDos protection you have to subscribe to their HomeShield Pro service, which costs $5.99/Month. This alone makes recommending any new TP-link router really hard.
Does anyone know if these routers also mesh with their PowerLine Adaptors? I have them three of them thinking the Ethernet would be speedy - not so much - but they have 5Ghz/2.4Ghz AC wireless as well. Don't know if they mesh with this system it would at all helpful.
The only problem I have with deco system is that you can't separate the 2.4/5gh into different ssid and the band steering is not smart enough to keep my phone connected to 5gh even if I have super good connection.

You would completely bottle neck these guys if you tried to mesh them using wired backhaul with POE adapters. You are better off using them wireless since they are high end triband.
If you missed the deal on the TP-Link AX5700 the slightly little brother of these guys both these systems are the fastest thing out there able to take full advantage of 1Gbps fiber internet which no other Mesh system can currently do.
