I get these will be retail pricing, but that's a deal these days. Unfortunately it is in store only and there's no telling how many GPUs they will have in each store.
Crypto is the biggest scam the world has seen in centuries. Cannot believe that a bunch of fools would value some random creation billions of dollars. The 50th most valuable crypto is worth $40mm total. $40mm!!!!! Even if one of these fake currencies becomes worth something, who's to say it's gonna be Bitcoin? How about XRP, or Ethereum, or Dogecoin? It's winner take all - loser is worthless.
I'm not touching that junk with a ten foot pole. Sure, some people made millions. Congratulations, you found a bigger idiot to buy the toenail clippings you bought from someone else for $500 a toenail. Doesn't make you a genius. Just a smaller idiot than the guy after you.
Rant over: I'm just pissed that there is such a shortage of video cards for people who actually will use them for what they're for: playing video games.
This stand in line is BS . Microcenter does it daily. Very abusive. They are basically abusing their customers making them stand in line for 15 hours. F them. Using people for fake show of lines outside a B&M like it's Thanksgiving 1994.
Newegg raffle is more civil. Every retailer should do that.
Microcenter stopped doing stand in line and switched to raffle lottery about a few weeks ago.

Lol, not all Crypto are meme coins that are useless. Coins like ETH has a lot of uses aside from being just a decentralized currency (DeFi). ETH has a lot of projects underway and one including Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). There will be smart contracts in the future as well.
Point is, anything can be considered valuable by the people right? Money (government currency) is nothing more than a piece of paper. At least in the US, the dollar hasn't been backed by the gold for a very long time. So in essence, the US dollar is basically like any other crypto currency, it's just been around longer and widely adopted in the US.
But in the future crypto can replace one country's currency and be a global currency. It offers more ability for those who has never been able to open a bank account. It's more secure, safer, and can easily be adopted by everyone without borders.
And it's funny you say that GPUs are designed only for playing video games. I'm holding my 3090FE box in my hand I can't see anywhere on the box it say it's exclusively for gaming. I guess 3D artists, CAD workers, and everyone else do not need high powered GPUs because it's built only for playing Fornite and Minecraft. Of all my hobbies, PC has to be have the most entitled community of kids who tries to tell others what they can do with their money and how they should use their products.

The dollar is backed by the United States of America -- with economy and guns.
LMAO what a joke. All the news that I've been seeing indicate that we are on the verge of a turnaround on supply and prices for these things... so why go thru this nonsense to maybe get one?
loser addicts and scalpers, i can respect the drive to earn money, but the other is just pathetic.

LOL that's exactly the problem. For about 200 years now American politicians figured out voters dont like taxes raised, and they also like free stuff.
So they give the voters free stuff without paying for it, with massive borrowing and now just straight out money printing.
This can work for a while, but nothing is free. It will come back to bite us eventually. In many small ways everyday it already does. Things might not get "really bad" for who knows how long, 10 years, 50 years, 100 years? but it cant continue forever.
The massive inflation and shortages we're currently suffering are just as much from all the covid stimulus money printing as covid itself. Try looking at the housing or car markets.
Bitcoin cant be inflated by politicians so thats good in theory. But will it be widely accepted? More pointedly, will politicians just ban it as a threat to their power? The latter is what I'd worry about. There's constant saber rattling forum EU and China in that direction even now. Those in power dont like a currency they have no control over.

That's the entire point, if all retailers charged high enough there would be no scalpers.

by definition anyone who has the time to wait in line overnight at a best buy can't afford not to double their money.
