We have an acquaintance that works at Samsung in Plano, TX who a few months ago said that they'll use the chip shortage as the reason not to come out with a new Note but that they already have no intention of doing anymore work on future Note phones. The chip shortage is just a convenient excuse to consolidate the phone lines.

Kind of sad to be honest, I LOVE the Note series. I've had a 4, 8 and now 10+. I guess it's going to be a while till I upgrade again. In all honesty I use the stylus very little, I mainly like the square-ish shape larger screen/battery and the spec bump they usually received.

I've read previous threads of Samsung and shady trade in experiences?

For example: some users said their phones didn't "qualify" but Samsung still kept their phones and charged full price.

If I'm trading in (which most of the time I don't), I would only do physical trade-in with a carrier. That's just me
To be honest, I've had 3 successful trade-ins 3 times so far through Samsung.

Traded in S7 Edge for Note9.
Traded in Note9 for Note20 Ultra
Traded in S20 for S21

I've done other trade-ins through Best Buy at launch, either for carrier deals that made it cheaper or due to the rumors that Samsung was shady with trade-ins.

But I haven't had a problem.

In fact, the Note9 had a really deep scratch in the screen, almost a crack really but it never spread (was about the length of pinky nail but super deep). I tossed a glass screen protector on it before I sent it in and it was accepted no problem.

Then you'll complain you're not buying the Fold until it has a 4500 mAh battery instead of a 3500 mAh battery.

I hope Samsung doesn't listen to you because people like you will never be happy.
It's not a problem unless you really rely on the Note. Then it's a problem. You're probably right, and the Note isn't all that profitable or something.

Still, the pen outside of the device is terrible. I don't know anyone that prefers that.

So rumors say the Z-Flip will be $1099. This might be a worthy upgrade.

I refuse to buy any more Samsung products.

My past two trade ins have been nightmares. Traded in my iPhones and they said it was blacklisted. These were my wife's and my personal phone that was fully paid off and unlocked by ATT. I spoke with a Samsung rep and All he could tell me is that the system found it blacklisted. Samsung sent me a picture showing that it was blacklisted but it's just a picture of the phone on the start-up screen.

This is not just my experience but many other customers on the Samsung forum chat. Beware and be warned.
Similar thing happened to me when I traded in my old tablet for the s7+, they sent me a picture saying that it had a cracked screen. I sent them back video of the tablet on and operating without any damage from all angles,, being wrapped in bubble wrapped, and placed in the box. They finally gave me my refund. I think someone cracked the screen in TN at their trade in center and then tried to say that it came out of the box that way even though it had 5 inches of bubble wrap on all sides. The wild part was they wanted to send me back my now broken tablet. Nah buddy, we aren't going out like any punk around here!

Feel bad for those of you who got ripped off on the tradeins. I sent in an iphone 5 locked to TracFone (but not on blacklist) and it went thru fine. Then I traded in a rooted htz rezound that still had Fresh rom on it, for the A71 5G deal and that went through too.

But it looks like that train has sailed.
Trains don't sail.

My 3 friends with galaxy fold 2 had the glass break on their phones.

One had her phone glass break twice.

Samsung giving away Samsung Care as a pre-order "gift" seems like they already know the fold 3 is fragile and will break a lot.

I would hate to have to wait weeks and not have my phone while Samsung Care fixes it.

Any idea what happened? Did they drop the phones or something hit the screen?

I want to buy the fold but I am deep into the apple ecosystem. I can let go the iPhone but not the apple watch. Any one on the same boat?
Stay with Apple. I was using iphone/apple watch/ipad/air pods pro, now Samsung fold2/buds pro/tab s7+/watch active 2. Samsung ecosystem sucks compare to Apple. Its too confusing to have all devices talk to each other. Apple was so simple and automatic. On Samsung, you need to download multiple apps that works like crap(samsung flow, view, wearable, etc).
I had Samsung replace my Fold 2 twice under warranty due to hinge problem. Without warranty, its $650 to repair internal screen.

I had a Note 20 Ultra screen fixed by Samsung 3 weeks ago and it only took an afternoon. They contract out fixes locally through shops. They used UbreakIfix near me.
