We have an acquaintance that works at Samsung in Plano, TX who a few months ago said that they'll use the chip shortage as the reason not to come out with a new Note but that they already have no intention of doing anymore work on future Note phones. The chip shortage is just a convenient excuse to consolidate the phone lines.

Kind of sad to be honest, I LOVE the Note series. I've had a 4, 8 and now 10+. I guess it's going to be a while till I upgrade again. In all honesty I use the stylus very little, I mainly like the square-ish shape larger screen/battery and the spec bump they usually received.

I too wanted the Watch 4 but I shall wait and I'm sure they will give me a 150$ credit for a watch 3 trade in later and will bite then. Coming to think of it the 1800 price was already known guess I was just expecting 100$ more for trade in so its strange that I'm gonna skip for a 100$ delta but guess patience is better.

I received the pre-order email a few minutes ago. Checked trade-in prices, and they are MUCH better. Getting $650 for my s21.

Samsung reservation email just came through. This is what I'm seeing using the link through there...

Galaxy Z Fold 3 - $1,799.99
Education discount: -$71.25
Note 20 Ultra trade in: -$850
Total: $878

This is cheaper than what I bought my Note 20 Ultra for and doesn't take into account any CB or other discounts you can try to find.

They are taking market value for trade-ins. Knowing Samsung, you should definitely wait for the price to drop (or boost in trade-in) and just sell your phone separately

the reservation $100 discount is not included in this pricing. It should be another $100 discount.

See that's the trick trade-in do to people. remember your Note 20 U still worth a lot.. You aren't just paying $878 rather it's like $1500+. The only saving you have is delta between the trade-in value vs real market value, in this case not even $200.

I believe it is included. I was getting $750 for my Note 20 Ultra trade in initially. Going through the reservation link and it goes up $100 to $850.

Is the reservation link really a special link? I got one random email saying pre-order and listed some promotional price, but it doesn't say anything about being a special reservation bonus.

I don't understand how the Note 20 Ultra has a higher trade-in value than the S21 Ultra. That doesn't make sense
