Very well said. Apple expects us to keep throwing them out and buying new AirPods every few years. Since the battery is not replaceable you gotta spend $200-300 each time when they eventually stop holding charge.

I was not able to price match at target online/phone and so I tried in store. When I got there, the rep initially seemed hesitant as staples online link was 199 but after showing him the ad and the fact that the staples next door had it in stock, he went ahead and pm. With the red card discount, ended up getting them for 170 pretax. I guess ymmv but worth giving it a shot if you don't have the bb chase offer. Thanks OP!

Considering you can send them in to even Apple to have the battery replaced this isn't even remotely true. A lot of modern electronics have on board non easily replaceable batteries, this is nothing Apple exclusive.

Good point. Out of warranty it's $49 each AirPod plus tax and $6.95 shipping.
