I have a 5 year old mower and leaf blower (came as a combo) with the 40v and a separate 18v trimmer and charger. Can you charge newer batteries on the older chargers?? Even if they take longer?

You can use the new batteries on old tools and old batteries on new tools but using an old charger depends on what kind of battery it charges, you cannot use NiCad charger to charge li-ion battery or vice versa as the voltage and working principles are different. same type batteries can be charged with new or old charger but don't mix battery type and charger type
In fall I have to use gas powered blower for leaves. This can not handle heavy work.
