Smoking deal on one of the best switch games!
In other words, supply and demand still very much a thing Smilie
This game was released October 2017, yet still maintains close to retail price. I know Nintendo first party games hold value, using cartridges makes it more expensive, and people are willing to pay due to the Mario franchise. But still a fairly high price for a game almost 4 years later.

I mean if one just bought it for $40, finished it, would one still be complaining about paying that price?

I'm close to finishing this, 100% completion, and I can say without a doubt it's worth it if you plan on getting the most out it. I got it with the pro controller bundle deal here from Walmart, which bought more for the controller, but I'm so glad I got it.

After finishing the main storyline, it was too tedious to go back through and find all the moons, also that mini balloon game add on wasn't too interesting

I do agree many of the moons were tedious and some downright lame. But there's so much more exploring to do compared to it's counterpart, Super Mario 64.

You could buy it, beat it and easily sell it for what you paid.

Why would I buy this when I can just go to Walmart and play it for free, 7 minutes at a time before the auto-reset? Big Grin

As far as pricing, some of the 3DS Pokemon games are still going for $30+ (used!) a decade later. Age does not automatically equate to depreciation, especially with a good game in a major franchise.
