Half the people commenting here are acting as if inflation doesn't exist. What you can get pre-covid or pre "9903.88.15" articles of China doesn't apply anymore in said future. Which is now. $500 for a beefy laptop in 21 is like me trying to get a 39 cent cheeseburger. Only exists in memorandum

I have been watching this one at $799 to see if the price dropped. Today the price dropped to $749, but then went back up to $954 a few hours later. It has a much better screen, Intel version, but non TI version of 1650 gtx. Check it every now and then to see if the price drops.

I have been watching the other one from 2020 from Walmart(nicer screen) and it just went up $50 also. Not sure how they are going to clearance them by raising the price Frown
Not too many negatives, no hinge issue, but most complaints say runs a bit hot(intel version), too heavy, battery life is like 2 to 3 hours, intermittent ram issues and an unusual high amount of defective screens. Oh, buzzing / hissing sound when you plug your ear buds in .

I have a similar model at home but Ryzen variant. The fix for the headphone was a software fix to lower the power output from the wifi card.

Did you go in person or how can you check online? I want to see if this is in any of my local Walmart stores to take advantage.

I just checked none of my local Walmarts have it next closest Walmart is like an hour and 30 minutes I am just hesitant to go and for they not to have it man was hoping my local Walmart would have some, but out of stock.

2x gen lower in gfx makes this too expensive for what it is, spec wise.. should be in the 500's if not for artificial shortages of new mfg...
tt's not 2 generations older, though in some views it might as well be. The 16 series is Turing (RTX 2000) chips without the Tensor AI cores needed for DLSS and RT.

20xx gen, 30xxgen.. are newer.. assuming 30xx is current for laptop.. 2x gen ago is reasonable to say

I suggest anyone going to your Walmarts if you got time I was able to score one at $499! I decided to go and ask kindly do you have this model instock. He checked in the front and said had nothing than I asked him can you check the back just incase. He goes and lucky me brings me one! If your by a local Walmart and gona pass through and looking for one got nothing to lose.

I also picked one up yesterday for $499. Brickseek showed the $499 price at two stores with 'limited availability' and at one store with '2-3' in stock about 45 minutes away.

Decided to try my luck but stopped at a closer store on the way for something else. Noticed the Lenovo box on top of the cage behind the electronics counter, said 'Reduced $699'. Asked if I could scan it, came up $499, so I bought it.

Note - like several other stores this one had shown the $499 price on BS but showed 'Out of Stock'. So, yes, worth checking out if that price is good for you. Not sure about the specific components but the specs are identical to the Legion Y545 I bought two years ago for about $900.

I just said that the 1600 series are 2000 gen chips... It's not a 1000 series chip. It's a 2000 gen chip sans Tensor AI cores. It came out a few months after the 2000 series: https://www.hgunified.com/home/nv...-1650.html
