I see a very consistent pattern here, over and over and over again
Not sure what part of THEY SAID you don't understand, sorry you have to keep having to make that conclusion "over and over aver again" can't help you there.
I can kinda help with your question:
"Anyone know how this compares to the REL "S" series that they sell at Magnolia/Best Buy?"
Someone on here said Magnolia/Best Buy are very knowledgeable and they carry a "wide selection" and that you can just walk in and compare it.
Maybe you can walk into your local store and see what they think and do your own comparing?
I've compared both by "listening" but not at a BB or magnolia.
The 7-8 around here are pretty clueless and actually don't have either of those specific models to listen to anyways.
You wouldn't be able to do "anything" with my comparison anyways, you go by "facts" , as you always say they aren't any "facts" in opinions(listening) 🤷🏻 ♂️
Hope that helps and good luck 👍🏻

1) Rel ht 1508
2) PSA 1512
3) SVS SB4000
I currently have one single svs pc12 plus, and while I enjoy watching movies with it, sometimes I feel its too prominent and drags (extended vibration/no clean sounding) when playing high res audio from Tidal thru Hegel H390. So I kept thinking what if I can upgrade to a sub or pair of sub that is cleaner sounding for music, but still great for movies without breaking the bank.
At first I was ready to order this rel predator but keep reading people suggesting HSU and PSA....and between the two, it seems PSA is the better option. I have listened to a martin Logan at best buy with dual radiator and it sounded great but I don't want to pay 4500 for one sub.
So based on recent reading it seems sealed sub will be cleaner sounding, sacrificing some sub 20hz, but yet PSA being ported still gets high praise. Before rel I was set on svs sb4000, but when I noticed the cons of my svs, I am afraid to get disappointed with sb4000. I want to buy one pair and not upgrade for a while, can you help provide me your opinion for 50:50 usage movies and music. Super confused by now. Thank you.

Yes..I did say Magnolia has a wide selection of brands /lines not sold on the internet
I named many of them.....
I also said that I have often seen the factory rep for the brand in the store that could speak to many details about the specific items...much more than any salesperson
Did you forget?
Or...are you again ,as you stated " coming to your own conclusions"....
Interestingly....there are no facts associated with your " conclusions".....
Ever.........just opinions
But again
Opinions dont have to have any connections to facts
You keep proving that over and over and over again....

Step 1...how was your current sub set up? Placement is KEY.

So that was you!!!! I do remember YOU saying you do "research" which included "listening"
YOU mentioned you did this for the Monolith 12 you eventually bought(1or 2 is irrelevant).
Correct me if I'm wrong so there is no assumption on my part but YOU said you were "comparing" it to the REL 1508, Monolith 15 and PB-4000 and or PB-3000.
I remember my simple question was which one of these models did you LISTEN to before deciding on the Monolith 12?
Since YOU just said "the REL model in this thread is primarily for online distribution did you?" and clearly didn't listen to the Monolith 12 or 15 prior, that leaves the PB-4000 and PB3000 which BB/Magnolia apparently carries.
Fairly simple question since YOU were the one doing the research and apparent listening!

So much to unpack here...and you are the one that stated you " came to your own conclusions"
You said correct you if you are wrong
I am correcting you because you are wrong yet again....
I have never compared a REL 1508 to anything...Magnolia does not carry that line
But that would have been obvious from a couple of my statements....
Yes..I do research, check stats and get my hands on as much as I can. I listen to professional reviews as well
I have said this same thing multiple times
No I did not listen to the Monolith(s) subwoofers before I purchased them
No I did not listen to the Monolith 7X amp before I purchased it
Read a lot of specs and read many professional reviews before I bought any of that
Clearly the demo is in your home after the purchase and with a full return policy
I have said the same thing multiple times
I have personally not seen a PB3000 at a Magnolia. I have seen a PB4000 on their showroom floor
I have said the same thing multiple times
Magnolia has other brands ..such as a another line of REL subwoofers( not sold online) that I have demoed
I have said this many times
I also have two other subwoofers , in my home, that I have purchased from Magnolia
I have said this many times
So now I have questions for you...VERY simple questions
1. How would you any idea of why Best Buy was still in business as you have suggested in other threads?
2. You do realize that there is a significant world of A/V not sold on the internet that is dealer only..correct?
3. When you stated you " came to you own conclusions" based on Best Buy/Magnolia selection and personnel ....what is your comparable store that has everything they do and more?
I say this because you made some comment about " most people" think the way you do
If that is the case I would love to see that survey of " most people"...and I clearly understand that the people that you have gotten that opinion from differ greatly from the people I know
You said correct you if you are wrong

Ok. How did you come to that placement? Is that literally the only place for it? Subwoofers are VERY placement-dependent. One spot can sound great while a spot 1 ft away can sound poor. Unhook you main speakers and play a bass sweep only from the sub. You can find them on YouTube or at places like audiocheck.net. You want 20hz to 200 hz. You need to find the spot for your sub where the sweep sounds even (no big peaks or dips) from your main seat. Then you need to reconnect your main speakers and find the sub's phase setting where the crossover frequency (should be 80hz in most situations) is loudest. If your sub only has a 0 or 180 phase setting and both settings sound the same, you will need to adjust the sub's "distance" setting in your amp/processor (if it has it) to virtually "move" the sub in 1 ft increments until it's bass waves are in phase with your main speaker's bass waves around the crossover frequency. Now play the sweep again and adjust the sub's volume control so it's loudness blends in with the mains.
However..I am most interested in the details of his " information" he posted on why Best Buy/Magnolia is even still in business
LOL...he " clearly" knows inside information on a entity that has $52B in annual sales
