Not sure why the Philips hue stuff seems to be more $$$ than other brands. Is it because the hue system let's you setup scene colors together etc?
They charge a premium for working as expected everytime. I have bulbs from every maker, and my hues are the only ones that I can hang my hat on. Very expensive hat holders

Great price for these. For those that are asking why People prefer Philip's and pay their premium it's basically because it just works. I have several systems in my house… Wemo/WiOn /hue and the hue is by far the most dependable and easiest to use. My Wemo switches constantly lose connectivity and have to restart the hub almost weekly. I rarely have any issues with any of my hue devices.
The reason Philips Hue tech is "overpriced" is the same reason Sonos tech is "overpriced". Because most users who are complaining have no actual experienced with the technology.

I love Hue and don't mind paying a premium for the lights themselves, but it's a hard pass on their fixtures. Just get some outdoor rated Hue bulbs and a cheap fixture. Total cost $50 if you're lucky.
Are both the floodlight fixture and bulbs controllable? If so, this seems like a weird pairing of items to buy. Typically putting a smart bulb in an outlet that's smart-switched is at best redundant and at worst really frustrating.
The description is confusing:

Philips Hue outdoor dusk to dawn light bulb works with Alexa for voice control (hub required and not included, Alexa device not included).
Brighten up dark paths with dusk to dawn light bulbs. Philips Hue outdoor lighting includes 16 million colors and all shades of white. No more complexity to get lighting outdoors: go create and extend as you like

Software and electrics engineers are expensive. So are lawyers and patents. Add all that up and hue costs a premium to deliver a premium. It's a case of you get what you pay for
Also in the boat that hue just works well. Never have connectivity issues. No pairing issues. Just works. I'm willing to pay a premium for better quality. Nowadays, QC is so bad that your bulbs and other cheap crap from China don't last more than 3 months before they flicker, hum, and crap out. I do wish the bulbs were colored though

I don't mind paying more for the fixtures that have the lights built in but this one is literally just a dumb fixture with two smart lights.

I have 1 bridge, a sync box, 3 switches, 3 sensors, and 40+ lights. It all works like it should.
I also have 4 wemo switches and 2 wemo plug in adapters. 2 of the switches and 1 plug in need attention every 6 months or so.
That being said, I don't really know the value of this thing. The non colored lights can be had for 15 each. The fixture is nothing special.
