I've been keeping an eye on these for a while now for my gear; price spiked during the pandemic and it's been at $245.95 for the past year per CCC. All time low was $163.95 on 2013-09-26 which is $191.21 adjusted for inflation; not a bad deal. Black and FDE are on sale. Olive is still full price.

This could be great for my roof rack. Just drill a few holes and mount it up top and load thins that don't need to be in the car. I see quite a few of these on top of cars while offroading / overlanding. Then again the HF Apache boxes are really priced a whole lot better.but either way, both would work just fine on a roof rack.

A squared plus B squared and all that?

You might be tempted to think so, but the short answer is "no".
√(35.75^2+13.50^2)=38.21
2.46 inches is not longer enough to be significant. Especially when your stuff inside isn't just a skinny pole or straight stick, so corner-to-corner placement isn't quite as helpful as one might think.

[edit: and the corners are a little rounded, taking off almost an inch each, from what would be there in a perfect rectangle.]

These are awesome cases we used to use to protect sensitive electronics in rugged/dirty use conditions like construction sites.

This will most likely fit an AR15 (~32 in), but it's worth measuring to be sure. A Mossberg 500 for example is as long as the exterior (38").

These are amazing cases, sure, but unless you are doing hard travelling or flying my personal opinion is that this is way too much case. It's heavy, it's bulky, and worst of all it tells everyone who sees you that you own firearms (and probably keep a bunch more at home).

My personal preference for short range trips is a backpack case like the savior series. For the really compact rifles (like the PC9 or SU16) I just use a regular backpack. Nobody knows what I'm carrying, and my ammo, handgun, etc goes inside a very boring plastic toolbox. AR15s, too (carbine) - pop the pins, take down into two pieces, and into the backpack they go.

Reginal outfitter (Scheels) has these for 100-150 non pelican branded. Seemed like good quality if looking for something for a bit less.

I thought this was for tradeshow standup banners when i saw this on the front page. It's unfair how this and the other brand listing in the comments are so much cheaper than cases for tradeshow banners and signage!!! I wonder if i can remove the foam and insert regular foam to fit my small biz tradeshow signage.
