Anyone know if the $300 tax credit is 1 per unit or 1 per household? I can't find the answer online

If I am reading it right, and I might not be, just FYI.... it looks like you can only claim a total of $500... so you can buy 2 and your total rebate would be $500, not $600. Anything beyond the $500 limit is not counted. So buying 3 wouldn't net you any benefit at all for the third.

Beyond that, it appears to be per household.

It is a direct wired connection and should have an external disconnect at the outside unit.

Nobody can prevent you from plugging it in a 115V outlet. It is no difference than a 12k btu window unit.

I don't believe this comes with a plug installed like a window unit usually does.

Probably wouldn't recommend it, but you can wire in the plug yourself.

I thought the $300 fed tax credit was if it had a heat pump.

Check your local electric company for rebates too. I got $600 (local) + $300 (Fed) back when I bought the DIY 18K unit.

That would be a bit ridiculous considering the outside unit needs to be wired to the inside unit. You'd just be making even more work for yourself -- you're already making a hole for the refrigeration lines and drain, may as well run electrical outside as well.

Not if you already have an outdoor plug right there.

This does look like a good price considering there is no need for an HVAC guy to startup and vacuum the lines. Big $$ savings. May make sense for me to get membership.
Noticed COSCO offers an 18K one also. Does anyone who has COSCO membership presently know the price of 18K unit?
Thanks
