Solid copper wires vs CCA (copper clad aluminum)
Shows my ignorance. I wasn't aware that cmr was a higher level than cl2. Thanks.

If you really want to future proof your home, you run Smurf tube to every location and not worry about what wire is used.

I had run smurf tube throughout my house including on several walls on each room. I built the house nine years ago and I've only used a couple that needed a hardwire run as opposed to Wi-Fi.

Future proofing is a myth. Ted wayte, The owner of Gateway 2000 back in the day said the largest hard drive anyone would ever need is 100 MB. I spent the extra big money to upgrade to 120 MB to future proof.

Could I put this in buried conduit? I have a shop roughly 100' from the house and I want to cut this up into smaller pieces and terminate them then put 3-4 of them in…. You know, redundancy and all Smilie. Question is then, Could I put it in buried conduit?

Get some potable poly pipe use for water and make a continuous run so water cannot get inside the pipe and you should be fine with this As long as the terminations of each end of the pipe are protected from water.

Probably a bit late on this comment, but this was by far my favorite wire to work with. I am an IT pro and we did our own wiring and once i used this wire, it was the only one i would ever use after that. Terminations were so easy and i thought 23 AWG was much better that 24 AWG. I used to spend $110 per 1000', so this price would be much better.

Do not get CCA (copper clad aluminum) whatever you do. I got that once by accident and it was horrible. Pain to terminate and the connection was never reliable.

Yes, and this coupon is listed right on the Monoprice listing under Eligible Coupons / Promotions and is available on ALL wire colors...
This makes the color black as cheap as $72.74 plus tax

Maybe OP / someone can add this to the deal details?

You want CMX rated cable for that, not CMR. Check out SnazzyLabs on YouTube he has a recent 20 min video going thru his recent house wiring (much of it being outside) where he set up Unifi POE cameras and APs.

Throw it on 1.5x or skip around because he really covers everything which you might not need. IIRC he was using identically rated cables at this but from CableMatters, both in CMR and CMX flavors.
Thank you, I'll check that out.

And the utilities do a very good job of grounding their infrastructure. Homeowners, not so much.

Coupon code 25NTWRK takes 25% off instead. Taking it down to $72.74.

Edit: Just saw this mentioned elsewhere.
