The Pending Charge for ~$1600 has disappeared from my CC, but my order status remains unchanged: order 7/28, shipping 11/30, arriving 12/7.
I ordered a fully decked Legion 5 Pro Gen 6 16" AMD Premium

Your order may very well be cancelled later on, but the disappearing pending charge does not mean anything by itself for an order with an estimated shipping date months out.
The same thing happens with ordering from Dell if the shipping time is a couple of weeks or months out from the order date.

At first, I asked to change the color to Stingray White, but he told me I would have to cancel the order to do that. I said "no". Then, he told me that my ship date for this order is actually Aug 3rd.
I'm hoping this guy is for real. lol maybe this will give y'all some hope too.

I ordered a 2020 Legion 5 (AMD) from Lenovo back in February 27 of this year. The original shipping date was estimated to be October 12, 2021. When I first placed the order, an authorization hold was placed on my CC for 3-4 days. Then it was released.
About 2 weeks later, my estimated shipping date was updated to July (8ish?) and another authorization hold was placed on my CC. Again, the hold was released 2-3 days later, and about a week later another hold was placed and released (without an update on the shipping date).
Finally another week after that (total of 4 weeks after the initial order), I get an email saying my order had just been shipped (March 28) and a final charge was placed on my CC the same day (which didn't post as complete until March 30).
So Lenovo's estimated dates are way off (even according to some Reddit posts). I believe they just put the most conservative estimate they can so they technically can't be blamed if the order doesn't ship sooner. As for the holds, I don't know why they kept triggering on my card even though they weren't actually shipping yet (maybe to check that the card is still valid? otherwise they might cancel the order).
The entire month, my order was also just "Released to Manufacturing" with Line Order # 00010. A couple of times I also contacted them by phone didn't yield any useful info on the shipping dates (the reps I talked to really had no idea as the system is automated).
