I don't know why it has a M2. 2242 slot, which is usually for smaller laptops. As long as it come with a 1 TB M2. 2280, I will be happy. I already planned to upgrade the 500 GB M2.2242 (if it comes with it) to a 1 TB any way. Are the interfaces of M2.2242 and 2280 the same? I saw online one enclosure with one interface which can hold either of the two. If the interfaces are the same and can fit, I hope I can put a 2280 to the 2242 slot.

Honestly you should keep the expectation low. It's not clearly defined, and all I've read is it only comes with one drive.
True, still a chance it's only one SSD. Anyways in a worst case I have a R-4800H 1650ti Legion from last year with a 512 SSD and a 1TB HDD I'll just do a swap with HDD as the second drive. I'm an extremely light gamer, I won't know the difference.

NVME interface is the same but 2280 is 38mm longer than 2242. But typically laptops 15" and larger have both mounting points for 2242 and 2280. I am not sure why this comes with 2242 in the first place as that is more of an ultrabook form factor.

So I decided to look at my order details today, no particular reason just wanted to see if anything changed. I'm pleased to find that my expected to ship date has been moved all the way up to August 20th and I'm expected to receive August 27th. That's much sooner than waiting until November/December.
i'm assuming you ordered the L517 but could you confirm what is your order? if L5P which color?

I'm *guessing* both slots take 2280 and 2242. It's just worded badly in the specs that make it seems like one of the two slots is 2242 only.

I think I've decided against keeping my 17" in case you are interested if you cover shipping I could send it your way. Although my ship date also hasn't updated yet so not really sure when it will arrive.

I was checking Lenovo's website and saw that they have added a pre-built model for 5 pro with similar top specs that most of us here got (3070 graphics, 32 gb ram, 2 tb ssd, etc.) and it says shipping in 10-12 days. I wonder why they are not shipping our orders then

That prebuilt looks like it has one 2TB drive, not the two 1TB drives in the CTOs, so unfortunately, it's a different spec.

Yeah it may or may not be exactly the same but after playing around with the customizations I was under the impression that 3070 graphics is the bottleneck. Turns out they have some at least

Not cancelled. Says shipping on 8/20. Credit card alert that large purchase was processed from Lenovo. This might happen.
