What do you suggest saying to them in order to get that discount?
Tell them you did not get the correct screen with the features advertised. But also make it known that you want to keep the laptop. Ask if they can replace it with the correct screen (they will not be able to do this). At that point they will usually give you some compensation so they do not have to deal with a return.

It looks like FreeSync use to be supported until the latest BIOS came out and removed support.

Consider that non-LHR RTX 3070 models are going for 1300-1500 on ebay given that they are the most efficient mining cards. The card in this system will hit the same hash rate and almost the same efficiency. And you got an entire laptop for less that what the desktop version is currently selling for. You can currently make about $90 - $100 a month mining with this laptop.

Well my l5pro was supposed to be delivered today but no luck. According to tracking it was in china the 22nd, Kentucky and released by customs on 23rd. Now it's in Japan? On the 24th. I'm a little concerned with ups tracking.

New to a laptop of this caliber. Old machine was first gen quad core. What apps can I use to optimize this thing and monitor Temps? Things like that? Like I said I'm pretty new to this and realize that ram timings aren't the greatest in this but that's the lower priority for me. I'd just like to fiddle with it but don't know where to start.

HWINFO64 and MSI afterburner if you want to tinker with your video card.

Very interesting and seeming how our build date on our laptop is 9/14 2021
I am sure we have the latest Lenovo bios.

What a botch job by the Chinese.

Here's a potential FreeSync fix that someone had for last year's L5: https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLe...7/ha2i1u5/
I will try doing a full reinstalling and see if that fixes the issue.

Not before I call Lenovo to see if they will provide a partial refund for this blunder of an issue.

FWIW, I opened my L5 17 tonight, and it has FreeSync enabled and option for HDR.

And it has the good Ram, and Samsung VRam.

GPU TDP is 130W just like the spec, not 140W like some have speculated.

Can you list the bios you have installed

as well as the Panel ID that is in your machine.

This very important as i suspect Lenovo might be using different dispalys for the Laptops

I'm so bit I missed this deal for a few hours! Did they honor it? Will there be anything like it between here and BF?

Ok, guys major update.

Apparently, the display does fully support Freesync and Dobly vision.

What I had done was install the AMD Software drivers from AMD's site when I had initially got the laptop. That is a no, no and will break Freesync and Dolby.

You have to use the drivers from Lenovo L5 17 page.

With that said this concludes my contribution to this thread.

Congrats to all who got their hands on this awesome deal and had the patience to ride it out.

And a special thank you to the OP

for highlighting this deal.

it's members like all of you that make Slickdeals so awesome.

See you in the next one.

FreeSync

Might not help anyone but no issues enabling FreeSync. I installed Windows 11 before doing anything else. Installed all the latest drivers through Vantage which installed Radeon Software. Opened it up and FreeSync was already on. Feel free to let me know if there are any other test requests.

Received mine yesterday! Tracking was all over the place and I wasn't expecting it until mid next week. Showed up via UPS. Couldn't be happier with it. Will return my MSI GE76 deal from Costco.
