This is likely a coupon glitch on the Lenovo website, and it's hard to say if they'll honor it. You can customize a Lenovo Legion 5 17" (AMD) with all the options (5800H, Win 10 Pro, 16GB, 1TB, 3070), and the price will stay at $1149.

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/lapt...customize?

Ships in 2-3 (varies) months. Use perksatwork to get <$1100 price.
  • Processor : AMD® Ryzen™ 7 5800H Processor (3.20 GHz, up to 4.40 GHz Max Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 16 MB Cache)

  • Operating System Language : Windows 10 Home 64 English
  • Microsoft Productivity Software : None
  • Memory : 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8 GB)
  • Second Solid State Drive : 1 TB PCIe SSD
  • Display : 17.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™, 300 nits, 144Hz

ALSO WORKS for Legion 5 Pro 16" AMD model, ships in 2-3 weeks

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/lapt...MD00000468

You can customize it to 5800H, 32GB, 1TB+1TB, 3070 for $1499 and ships in 2-3 weeks. Better than the $1400 Walmart deal because that one has 16GB and 512GB SSD. (Personally I can't stand the lid design on L5 Pro, so I returned that to Walmart and getting the L5 17" model).
  • Processor : AMD® Ryzen™ 7 5800H Processor (3.20 GHz, up to 4.40 GHz Max Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 16 MB Cache)

Hi Lenovo Rep yes this is Michael and I'm trying to take advantage of a price error but when I don't follow the OPs instructions on Slickdeals the price error disappears can you help me?
The Pro 5 supposedly ships in 10-12 business days as opposed to 3+ months for the normal Legion 5 17" model. I took a shot at this; after-tax total of $1,647.50 for the Pro 5 with:

● AMD® Ryzen™ 7 5800H Processor (3.20 GHz, up to 4.40 GHz Max Boost, 8 Cores, 16 Threads, 16 MB Cache)
● Windows 10 Pro 64 English
● 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16 GB)
● 1 TB PCIe SSD
● 1 TB PCIe SSD
● 16.0" WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS, anti-glare with Dolby Vision™, HDR 400, 500 nits, 165Hz
● NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX™ 3070 8GB
● 720p HD
● Array Microphone
● Storm Grey
● Backlit 4 Zone RGB - US English
● Wi-Fi 802.11AX (2 x 2) & Bluetooth® 5.1
● Anodizing
● PC/ABS
● 4 Cell Li-Polymer 80Wh
● 300W AC
● Publication-English
● 1 Year Depot or Carry-in

Fingers crossed to get this laptop at $950 off the retail price!

I didnt post it earlier for two reasons:

1- I wasn't positive this driver is legit. I talked to Lenovo support about it last night and they did say to go ahead and use it. I don't want to feel responsible for anyone screwing up their laptop or data because of this. So use at your own risk. The actual download link to the driver doesnt come from the official Lenovo, ASUS or MediaTek website.

2- I am not familiar with the forum policy for linking to external links.

I apologize in advance if this is not allowed:
Link to Lenovo forum post in regards to the issue with the link/info to solve it:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gami...-p/5099736
Link to the ASUS forum with links to download the driver:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showth...-Bluetooth

You are good, external links are allowed (as long as they aren't affiliate/earning links or obvious troll/hate/NSFW).

thanks for all this info! Repped.

There's an error with your second link. I've fixed it:

Anyone else with the Pro having Wifi issues? I cant keep a constant internet connection when I use Wifi. Couldnt even get through initial setup of the machine because it kept loosing internet. I used a local account thinking it was a microsoft issue but once I was running I discovered that everything that needs a steady internet connection doesnt work. Wired ethernet works fine. Can also use USB modem. Wireless I cant. I have 3 other laptops plus many more devices on the wifi that are not having this issue.

Tried to resolve the issue but I havent been able to. Talked to Lenovo support and they want to replace it.

I found some chatter online that the card on these sucks and people are just replacing them with an intel card.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions.

After 2 months the last thing I want is to replace it lol.

I'm not sure if it's the L5Pro but I seem to have weird issues with my internet wifi going fully down whenever I open it and connect it 😬

Have the L5Pro in hand, with the 2x1TB NVME and 32 GB of RAM. Not sure whether to keep it or not. Didn't realize it weighs almost 1.5 lbs more than my current Zephyrus G14 (2021), and that's not including the power brick. Slickdeals strikes again... buy first, ask later.

Actually, I am pretty sure that the rep did not actually look at the details of your order. Its a custom build, which takes months to build. Usually, Lenovo does not do a replacement without getting the original order returned first. If that's the case, they might send you a box to return the old one first and then create the replacement order. They might say it will take a week or two but yeah that not gonna happen.
Even though I talked to them yesterday, and told him I found a fix, I still received a replacement email today.

They started a new order and tracking number.
The email says I have 5 days to return my old laptop once I receive the new one.

No idea how long it would take to receive the replacement and wont know because I am cancelling the replacement since I was able to fix the issue with the driver I got from ASUS.

I have returned several laptops to Lenovo, *all* due to their mistakes and/or bad repairs. This process is typical. If you have issues within first 30 days, you get a new one, order # and everything, you have quite a bit of time to return the old one. I usually returned it a week later. Even if they nag you that they will charge you in an email, it rarely came to that.

HOWEVER, if you had a custom one, you will have to wait for them to build it, which could take months. But the rest of the process is the same...get it, return the old one a few days later.

Btw, the long timelines, since this past spring, are all overestimations. I was also told that my custom stuff would take forever, and the time got cut in a half (ie: 2 months vs 4 months lol).

Good to know. First time buying from them directly.
I am glad it's working now. Another 2 months would have been painful.

What model Wifi is it? If it's the Realtek module, it's hit or miss and you may need to replace it.

Horizon Zero Dawn. Doesn't matter if it's balanced or performance mode. Even in quiet mode the CPU hits 96C constantly. Did they forget the paste?

Are both fans working? Both spinning up under load? Are idle temps high too?

Both fans are working. Idle temps are 33C. It behaves fine for most stuff. Just really ramps up when gaming. I've had the L5P and Legion 7 on hand before. This heat sink is almost identical to the L5P except the heat pipes are a little longer. Shouldn't make this much of a difference though which is why I suspect bad paste job(or no paste lol)

I'm mainly interested in seeing if this is limited to just me before I take it apart and look.
