Keep in mind that this has the BGR Subpixel Layout. This makes stuff like text or fine detail in games look bad. Some people are fine with it though.
I'd spend the $20 at BB for return policy alone. Bad stories about dead pixels and Newegg policy.
Looks good. Seems like the lowest price since it was released.

Built-in KVM function is a nice bonus. Good for switching between work laptop and gaming PC.

Amazon currently has it at $307.13. If you have their credit card, the 5% back brings it to $291.78. Absolutely worth it if you need to return.

Edit - looks like Amazon just price matched. When added to the cart, the price updates to $289.99.

Now that Amazon's price is updated, Best Buy will also price match (they don't directly match to Newegg).

Is there a review that covers this? Interested in seeing if it'd bother me.

There is more about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors...ses_blurry

Flipping the monitor does fix this issue, but you lose freesync/gsync functionality and you get increased input lag.

Would this pair well with a MacBook pro? I just got an Asus VY249HE eye care monitor to pair with my work laptop but I'm not loving it.

I don't game this would just be for work. I don't do design or anything with photo/video.

If you don't care about the BGR subpixel rendering, sure.

Edit: and if you do care, you could flip the monitor upside down. alternatively, see: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors...el_layout/

fark Newegg for monitors trust me do not even. Trying to return mine after it was damaged beyond repair in delivery they were an absolute nightmare to deal with. It took 3 months for them to process my return.

Does this only effect text in video games, or all text?

It affects all text that has been subpixel rendered. Most text in images isn't subpixel rendered. Most text in word processors or web browsers is. It depends on how the software was written, which apis they use to display the text. You can look up subpixel rendering for more info.

HOWEVER I think that free sync might not be supported on the Mac anyway, so you could probably just flip the screen 180 degrees as a workaround.

AND it looks like there might be a software workaround after all! Not my info, ymmv: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors...el_layout/

Thank you for all of your help.

One last question if you don't mind. I was also looking at this monitor:

Would this one be better?

Copying and pasting my review from when this was FP a few days ago at $310. I work in content creation/media/design. I am picking up a second at this price. For extremely color sensitive work, it is worth it to have a genuinely calibrated display, but I have matched this to the best of my abilities and the monitor's capabiltiies to a calibrated Apple display and will check against that in certain scenarios.
---------------
Really great monitor for gaming, and the KVM switch's usefulness cannot be overstated if you've got a 2-device setup. Ton of ports. The BGR layout can definitely be annoying until you've made some adjustments - something you'll probably be doing A LOT if you're as anal about color as me.

On that front, I was underwhelmed with it for color accuracy. I purchased an Asus Designo monitor originally and was sincerely disappointed with it. I checked rtings before making another mistake, and purchased what they had recommended (this monitor) for media creation. It's... good but not great. Don't get me wrong, it's no slouch, but it's definitely not the gold standard when it comes to color reproduction. Very vibrant, very deep range, but both of those things seem to spite it sometimes. I've spent too much time in the settings already.

All of that being said... I am still considering picking up a second one. However, this monitor is typically $319-$329. You aren't saving much.
