Just so every one know this is a Gen 3. So no it won't work with requirement for PS5. needs to run at least 5,500MBs/. You don't want it to run slower then the internal storage. But great deal for pc storage though.

Aye! It's you again. Posting the same comment on all SSD posts. Didn't someone call you out on another post on how the links being unrelated to the actual SSD in the post?

LOL. I hope that's 3 years extra on top of the existing 5 year manufacturer warranty.

is this a good ssd or wait for P31? I need for 3-4 year old cheap desktop for now but in the future will move into a laptop. Not sure if needs a cooler for laptop use or if will fit into a laptop with cooler attached.

Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought three years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 4-16TB.

Didn't they already get in trouble for that back in the PS2, Xbox and NGC days? I recall being part of a class action lawsuit against the memory makers for gouging during that time.

Read more information in the comments from a couple days ago for same drive. It doesn't have DRAM onboard, but that may not be a dealbreaker at this price, even as an OS drive.

I took the Allstate (Square Trade) warranty. 3 years for $12.79.
They have good service in my past dealings with them for claims. Repped OP!
Also combined 5% using Paypal with Discover.

i've read comments. completely new to m.2 nvme. will be my first drive. i prefer hynix with dram, even cheaper 500gb, but if this is just as good and doesn't overheat i'll try it. i won't get the advertised speed anyway in my old pc. maybe when i buy a new laptop this or next year. it's mostly for storage and reliability and hopefully faster video editing. i can finally edit 4k so i prefer something faster than sata. i don't even know if my m.2 slot supports pcie. don't know if m.2 can be both pcie and sata.

Zoinks! I will likely have to cancel the Allstate/Square Trade warranty . Reps for the save.

I thought about it and I believe it runs concurrently and they will make me go with factory RMA first because Allstate is secondary coverage. I will ask them now before canceling to see if they would still cover it if the factory refuses due to wear and tear (mining using all of the writes up). If they commit to that, I am keeping the Allstate active. And I will get it in writing!
---------------------------------
Update:
Had a nice chat session with Allstate and have it in writing they would cover it after Samsung rejects it, if for the reasons associated with using it up- normal wear and tear from lots of writes because of the finite amount they are capable of. Associate said they would only deny coverage in the case of physical damage or water damage. Not from using it so much it died.

Plus if Samsung makes me pay to ship it for the RMA to them for Allstates required first chance under factory warranty to cover and replace it, and it gets denied, Allstate will reimburse my shipping costs as well.

IDK for a fact that Samsung makes you pay shipping to them, but I expect they would. Keeping that chat transcript handy.
So keeping the warranty with them.

No, I think you'd need a minimum of the PRO model. This has to slow of Read / Write speeds.
