This seems like a good deal on a huge TV. I can't find much info on this model and how it might compare to the UN8570 (that has been as low as $1300 recently) so I'm hoping to spur some conversation with this thread. Is it the Costco version of the NANO90? Is it significantly better that the UN8570 that's on their website right now?
Below is the direct link to the TV. Based on the specs, this model seems to be a downgrade from the 2020 UN8570 since the UN9070 specs show not supporting HDMI 2.1. https://www.costco.com/lg-86%22-c...61669.html
EDIT: 8/9/21... Website description has been modified to include HDMI 2.1 support.
Real 4K Display α7 Gen3 Processor 4K with AI Picture & AI Sound Native 120Hz
webOS + LG ThinQ AI w/ Magic Remote Cinema HDR w/ Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos
If it is ips the will clearly mention as Ips in this model they mentioned real 4k display so most probably it's an VA panel for both 86 and 75 inch versions. Just a thought
Would have been a great deal if the price for 86 inch is 1200 and 75 inch is 900
Would love to get something in this size. Seems like not much love for this model? Anyone have another recommendation?
The UP8770 Series is on sale for the same price at BB when logged-in to your BB acct. Although it doesn't include the extra warranty, it does have the updated a7 Gen4 Processor and two HDMI 2.1 ports. The specs don't say HDMI 2.1, but the BB back panel picture and LG's website confirm. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-8...Id=6452986 https://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-86up...-4k-uhd-tv
The 2021 version of the UN8570 is the UP8770 I mentioned in post #20. This UN9070 is more like a downgraded 2020 model as it doesn't use the new 2021 processor, and it lacks the HDMI 2.1 support of the UN8570.

Looks like they updated the description over the last couple of days when they adjusted the price down $100. Originally it listed 3 of the ports as HDMI 2.0 and 1 as HDMI 2.0b. Good catch...
