I've owned enough expensive samsung screens to know QC is terrible and warranty redemption is even worse. For that reason alone this is a $1500 monitor max.
Yeah, last gen had tons of issues. Feels like an expensive risk hopping on the first batch of these.

Yup, that's why I decided to hold off. My main use is productivity anyway so this is a bit overkill for my excel sheets...lol

You've clearly never played on an ultra wide monitor.

After returning three G9s I decided to hold out for the 2021 model. Specs look great, but price is way too much.
I've been considering the G9... What were the problems that caused you to return them?

Problem with the monitor are pretty well documented. There are even spreadsheet and graphs showing all the different issues https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawid...ring_date/.

In my case, the first one had specs of plastic in between the screen glass. It would also flash every once in a while. Another had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. It would have been fine if it was towards sides or edges. All of them had the loud popping noise, which I didn't mind since I've had Dell monitors that did the same.

I used the 49" Samsung monitor and thought it wud be helpful but note that gaming will be immersive but rotating ur head from left to right is a pain which I thought after using it for 1 week and then I returned it and got the gigabyte m32q ips 1440p monitor and I am very happy with that… well that was just my personal opinion.. my friend still uses his and he likes it for coding as he can open multiple sections to see the code properly. But if u want to use it for all purpose.. I would not recommend it

Samsung warranty is terrible. Guy from a local group rma'd a monitor. They shipped a replacement and it was lost. Samsung doesn't insure outbound shipments and won't replace it. Garbage company.
